first fill up.. i need a little help.

Hey everyone I have a 150 tall tank I just put together and i laid all the live gravel and did the aquascaping.. My question is this.. I broke my Protein skimmer cup and i need to silicone it so it doesnt leak.. can i fill the tank up while i am fixing it an waiting for it to dry then run it. Or do i need to fix the skimmer then fill the tank up with water for the 1st Cycle? it only takes 3 hours to dry so i think i can fill it up and fix it but im not sure.. thanks!

You don't need to skim a new setup. There's nothing in there to skim.

You can let that silicone dry for awhile if you want. You don't need the skimmer right now, so make sure you let that silicone cure for a few days.

Fill up the tank then silicone the skimmer as you wont need it right away and even if it drys in 3 hrs I would still let it sit a day so before putting it into use.
