fishing license

I just got some basic gear for fishing for beginners since I am just starting to get into fishing. I have always wanted to fish but am now actually taking the steps to start. I don't want to get a fine or anything so where is the best place to get a fishing license? I plan on just fishing locally first to get into it before I start buying the more expensive gear for the big fish.
 
kmart walmart cabellas outdoor world some gas stations even carry the machine to sell em now least in Wisconsin the do
 
When your ready for some gear get ahold of me. I make my own tackle. I pour jigs and powdercoat them to order, I make everything from crappie jigs to swimming jigs, also pour my own senkos, and make my own carolina rigs:)

Being a beginner and JUST starting this out, I have NO idea what what you are talking about lol

I actually did buy a fishing pole, some fake bait (not sure what you call them exactly), hooks, sinkers, and I think floaters? not sure what you call them but I just have all the basic stuff. I was planning on trying it out with the fake bait and see if anything bites. Not sure how effective it is but after watching river monsters and seeing Jeremy catch big stuff with the fake bait, thought I'd give a try lol
 
Got my license. What do you guys think of using silversides as bait? I have been told that corn and hotdog works great but I have neither right now and just have a packet of silversides in the freezer that I haven't used for months.
 
Not fishing for anything in particular. Just have a few local locations I was going to drop by and start fishing.
 
I caught lots of catfish on mcdonalds chicken selects lol and kfc popcorn chicken. For bass i use rubber weedless worms and everything else zip lures and jigs rigged with spinners
 
Hot dogs for catfish... Fun times with the kids. Had the best time this past April fishing for striper on opening day :). Only were able to take home 3 :(. They were all over 17".

hahaha, really!?!? I have freezer almost full of that stuff lol
