Fishing outing

So I haven't gone fishing in about 2 years and I'm itching to go. I know we there's a thread on here but I could t find it. I'd like to setup a small outing to go fishing in somewhere in the Chicago suburbs. I heard busse lake has some good fishing. I really want to go somewhere where I know I'll catch something decent. Starve rock sounds pretty good but is the farthest from everyone. If anyone would like to do this let me know so we can setup a date. We can take the grill and just enjoy the day.

Busses woods is a no in my book.. It has been out fished IMO

I will try to list some spots tonight

But I'm down to go

I'd really like to go if it works out. I live near the chain-o-lakes state park and there is pretty good shore fishing there (along with canoe and kyak rentals), but I know that is pretty far north.

I live around 10 lakes and have not been fishing in years lol. I think I fished so much as a kid I lost interest. A lot of people up north do not realize all the lakes down here. Some are private but there is alot of others if you do your research. My parents live on a private strip mine that I snorkle ski and scuba. It is 7 miles long and 60ft deep in some spots. We also have alot of area clubs you can join instead of heading to Wisconsin but for some of you that is probably closer.

I agree Busse woods is really tough now due to high fishing pressure...i think it would be worth going south like Dave said or head up north into wisconsin... just my .02...I'm def down though...

These are my spots * and take my kids all the time. Non stop bluegill for them using red worms :D

Pratts Wayne Woods * hidden and clean *

BASS LAKE
DEEP QUARY LAKE*

HERTAGE LAKE

MALLARD LAKE*

Many more if needed around my area.. South will be good also

Wish there was someone with a boat like a pontoon..... I love the idea of a fishing trip. Another idea which would be cool is a Lake Michigan Charter... Go out.... have some charter operation schlep us around.... catch some salmon or trout... drink a few beers... enioy the "big lake".... and have a blast.

... a little shore fishing on a lake is also a good time. Of course... I need to find my gear... burried in the basement... and would need to get a license....

I love the responses I'm getting. will drive a bit. Like I said as long as I catch somthing I can bring home I will be happy. Can someone lookup some charter pries I've never looked into that and have always fished off shore never off a boat but have always wanted to . I love to get some tips also since its been a long time but let's get this going the weather is pretty decent right now and I've heard the hotter it is the worst it is to fish.
