Fishing outing

What type of fish are you hoping to catch? Bass, pike, bluegills? I am in Wisconsin and it is usually fairly easy to catch them here.

I've heard that the chain is good early spring or late fall...I think summer might be too busy with recreational boaters...but that's just what I've heard... Mixed reviews on Lake Shabbona (south of Dekalb)...I've hooked on two muskies there but have had a hard time ever since. My bro did get into some big striped bass there...but again high fishing pressure.

Dre and I tried Twin lakes in wisconsin a few weeks ago but got our buts kicked. We could try Lake Geneva?!

I've tried the charter route on lake Michigan for salmon. We caught our limit but in my opinion...was not what I was expecting. With the heavy gear and trolling, it kinda took the fight out of the fish. To me, that's what its all about.... the salmon tasted great tho!

Im gonna chime in here. I had always fished the dupage co. forest preserves. West branch on Army Trail, Crappies as big as a dinner plate. Walleye and Trout were stocked at one point or another and the sizes were getting near 16-18". The East branch down on Glen Ellen Rd. had some huge Bass at one time. Shabbona out west had some great top water action during the summer months. I would stay away from Mallard as that landfill has issues and possibly poisoning the area water table, (Thats just my opinion). Pratt Wayne was not very bountiful. The Fox River has some key points for Smallies but those places are mostly crowded. The Chain around the Fox Lake area is a morning and nighttime bite as it gets alot of boat traffic. There are alot of smaller farm ponds turned into park district use and those had some hidden gems as well. Most are walk the shore lakes/ponds. The cooling ponds at LaSalle and Braidwood were boat access(yes-no?) only but never was able to get out there. Don't know if those are still key places. Busse was always a bust.

Yes I think braid wood and the cooling pond is boat only I was reading up on both those but look decent sized and would like to try them if I can get on a boat.
