Frameless 40b SPS build

Update : Finished building the stand. My first time really doing any kind of woodwork. I'm not sure if I overdressed it. Does it look too complicated? Still needs stain.

I decided on a lift/lock panel, so I could remove the whole front and have better access.

I'm debating on borrowing a router to maybe inlay the front panel with a design.

your a jerk!!! LOL I was gonna use those corner pieces on my build now I cant or it will look like I copied you. :suicide: now I gotta find something else. thanks a lot!!!!!!! Besides that it looks awesome. great job

Looks good Joe, only suggestion is those center 1bys look kind of out of place. Keep up the good work.

Sorry! I had them laying around the house from when I replaced all my doors and trim. They're Oak though, and the rest of the stand is pine. Not sure how it's gonna look when I stain it. Thanks though!

P.S. I'm not the first one to use those blocks! I've seen them on tons of builds. Do it up, Goof!

Thanks! Yeah, I think you may be right. I might take them out. I was bored and split 2x4's down the middle to make them, then used a D/A to round the edges.

Personally what i would do is run the boards vertically so the square things look like pillars. That'd look sweet

Joe, you're on a role! The stand looks awesome, to say the least; I wouldn't change a thing.

You didn't answer my question, though! What kind of silicone did you use?

Great looking stand hey I know a lot of people warned of the tank maybe bursting idk about that but be really careful the black molding on a tank with no center brace isn't to hold the tank together its to keep it from racking if a kid or pet or yourself knocks into that tank with water in it the right way those seams will split just a warning other then that the build looks great

Update : Floating canopy and lighting installed. Lots of pics!

Used 1/2" carriage bolts to fasten the canopy to the stringer.

6" lag bolts into the studs, to hold it up. 1.5" pvc for spacers.

Disregard the cord, it's getting punched through the wall. 250w 14k phoenix. I plan on adding a Tek T5 2 bulb retro kit.
