So i woke up today... Getting ready to go on vacation and i get struck with the friday the 13th bad luck :(
Woke up to my flame angel and frogfish dead :( check all my levels and everything looks spot on.. Only thing i did was top off rodi water... All my other fish are ok besides them.. Sad day today..

RIP mr frogfish and blaze the flame angel $150 fishes dead.. Sigh

Sorry to hear about your loss Jeff. That sucks! I hope you can find the reason and are able to get things squared away so you can head off to vacation!

Sorry for your fishies. I woke up the other day to find 2 of my anthias dead also. I'm done with anthias, all they do is die. I have 2 left from my school of 5.

reminds me of my hawky :(

i even look for it to come and snatch food when i feed .. always forget that its gone :(

Do u guys think me toping off rodi water last night was the thing.. Thats really the only thing new that i did last night besides night feed my lps and my anemones.. The thing that confuses me is that if there was a significant change when i topped off the water wouldnt my inverts be the ones to take the big hit first and not the fish that are more hardier

In theory, yes your inverts and more sensitive tankmates should get hit first, but from what it sounds like, this is more of your random Chicago violence than a bio-terrorism attack....

inverts that live in interdidal zones can tolerate changes in dilution better than fish in some cases. As far as I know Frogfish are relatively deep water so they might be more sensitive. I woul dhave never thought a regular top-off would have that impact unless it resulted in a major dilution or contained a contaminant.

What else is in the tank?

In my 14 gallon biocube i have my clingfish, porcelain crab, sand shifting star, 2 rbta.. Only the frogfish was hit..

In my 15 gallon tank..
I have 1 fire shrimp, 1 cleaner shrimp, 1 brittle star, mandarin goby, and yellow watchman goby.. Only the flame angel was hit

And regarding my rodi system i changed my filter bout 1 month ago.. Not unless something went bad when i was making fresh rodi water last week.. Do u thnk rodi water sitting in a container possibly create some kind of bacteria or something that could have killed off my two fishes
