Fwadivers no 80 gal shallow reef

tank and stand was 620 plus tax , sump was 250ish i think i'd have to double check paypal to see what i paid will.

got the plumbing pieces last night, all coming together, my acquisitions in walts tank will be in mine come thurs!

did par reading, directly at surface center is 650par, sides are 500 top of rock is 450-500 with edges getting down to 350 at about mid tank. sandbed is anywhere from 150-200 par (these are all 100% on readings) based on this i'm going to leave it at 100% for only about an hour or so a day and dim up and dim down on a 10-12 hour schedule.

I am finding that all my corals appreciate less par then what is typically recommended. Go slow with new corals as LEDs even at the same PAR as MH or T5 seem to bleach corals pretty quick. I have lost a few thinking that since they were at the top of a MH tank I can put them at the top of my LED tank.

return pump and return osccilator plugged in and working, need to retest params and run some gfo then its money!

well i've been waiting on pics for an update, but cant find my camera cable anywhere so verbal only,

diatom bloom starting, i have about a dozen sticks now plus old livestock, picked up my blenny from RW, had a scare and thought i lost him but he is doing fine.

Also bought a new kole and a signal goby. Kole is going strong but signal goby passed yesterday(pretty sure, hermits were chomping on a chunk of 'meat'). Goby was eating fine and did not have any apparent illness. Hate when it happens like that.

mp40 ordered, still need to setup the reef controller, and get a stand so i can run the skimmer. Ordered another 40 lbs of tonga branch to build some kind of structure opposite the boulder in the tank.

need to measure params again, did a 5 gallon water change when dripping all the livestock with red sea salt this time, no apparant clouding, but i suspect mag is still low.

Sounds like you'll be busy! Sorry about losing the goby, that really sucks to lose fish when they seem fine.

For your skimmer stand, I had to raise mine and just used eggcrate with zip ties. Sort of made a little box without a bottom. Works really good!

since walt will come in here demanding pics, here are the crappies iphone ones i could take

kole under there, cant really see her

blenny hiding spot

everything is cooking along nicely. The blenny and kole seem fat and happy just eating algea in the tank, I am feeding a small bit of rods maybe once a week. Everything is on cruise control right now except dosing. Adding 25 ml of 2 part daily or 50ml every other if i miss a day. dosing pumps will be up and running soon. CUC ordered from reef cleaners and should be here this week (snails only) most of the corals are now affixed to the rock. skimmer is still not skimming as I need to build a 3" riser for it, that should happen this week sometime, along with fuge light since macro is coming from reef cleaners as well.

My blenny bit the dust, not sure on the cause, params seem to be staying in check (see my sig) and the addition of a dozen blue legs and an emerald along with running GFO have cleared up 90% of the hair algea.

Adding Second MP40 today to left side (replacing koralia 1500) and should have skimmer working soon, switched to avast pegleg recirculating to overcome the 12" water depth. the Omega 150 really needs about 7.5" to work well, selling off my in-100 which i was going to use for the frag tank, this will be replaced by the omega 150...
