So a little update i just hooked up a Phosban reactor to try and take care of this Cyano that keeps coming back. I've always wanted to try and run one but have been to lazy to rearrange the equipment inside my stand, it was a complete PITA but i got it done. Hopefully ill see some improvements with the cyano on my sand bed. Im also thinking about selling this MASSIVE purple tip frogspawn that has just completely outgrown my system. I wanna see what you guys think and if someone wanted it before i even try, this would be a great piece in a much larger system. I was gunna just try and get what i paid for it which was $50, this thing has gotta be the size of a 16" softball lol here's a picture of it.View attachment 18044
OK so i haven't been on CR in quite some time I recently had moved out west to Dixon which is about 30min past dekalb since my wife finally got her career up and going. She gotta job at a hospital out here as a nuclear Med Tech. My tank really took a hit while we were In the moving transition as it had to stay at my apt in Bloomingdale while we were out here. Month went by and the algae took over and actually took a bit of my SPS which is super depressing. But I finally moved it out here and I pretty much restated the tank. The only things that lived were my ZnPs and Candy canes. I really want to take my tank seriously again and I can't wait to add more stock. I'm still unemployed out in the area and I couldn't afford to get new sand so I decided to rinse and rinse and let it all dry out. Do I have a cycle coming again? My LR has been up and going for about 8 years now will this help me not have another cycle?
I've never used Dr tims, but have heard good things. You may want to monitor closely for ammonia and if you see any spike, know where you can get it locally.
