Goms Illuminata 57g Build and a few other hobbies

Wow, its been 5 months since the last post! Crazy! Had some bad things go wrong with the tank, cyano outbreak (twice), no live stock lost but lost some coral frags. Still hoping for the best on 5 of the survivors. Had a pump that went bad in the skimmer (leaked voltage into tank). Replacement coming. Added new live stock, two wrasses, yellow coris and a whip fin, and a barnacle blenny. Yellow coris buries into substrate at night and whip fin has a spot that he secludes to around 9pm every night and lets a mucous plug around him. Blenny is MIA. I'm sure he'll pop up, but has tons of hiding spots, so time will tell. Shrimp are all good, clowns are all good, Pink spotted goby, Coral beauty all good. I know your all fretting over the open top, but as long as the wrasses aren't harassed they don't jump. And anyway all fish will jump out if they want to! Changed up the landscape also. Took the middle rock and placed it vertical. Moved a piece to the 15 gal nano and now I have three vertical pillars. Definitely looks more natural. Coraline is plentiful on all surfaces.
Started a 15 gallon nano, moved my summer pepperoni grow outs to it (had 3 now have 5). Sunny-d from 2nd CF BBQ, magician paly, some zoas that I don't know (got them from RW), and my florida rics are in it under a kessil 350w. Yellow Clown Goby and Blue Neon Damsel (moved from 57 g because he made the my flip tail jump the overflow and take a trip to sock land) round out the live stock (cleaner crew in there just didn't name them), and a Blue Maxima Clam.
Pics coming soon.

Back to Chicagoreefs and back to reefing.

What has been happening with me:
Had a crash on my tanks and therefore decided I was going to just get rid of it all. Had all but two fish left and a brittle star, wasn't doing any water changes at all and looking for homes for them. Broke down all my small tanks.
Talked to a neighbor last week as he wanted to convert his freshwater and had questions, which got me thinking.
Decision made:
Doing it all again!
Ordered new sump, cleaned up 57 gallon, still have the 2 fish and brittle, but a crap ton of algae. Removed 80% of rock to fight the algae. Rock left is big enough for the two fish and brittle can hide under it.
Ordered new rock as I want to change the aquascape. Curing old rock for my friend.
Setting up new water change station (2 - 65 gallon water tanks hooked to my RO system).
Thinking about building a hood to hold some T5's with my Radion XR30.
Going to plumb my 20 gallon frag to the same sump.
I'll post pics on progress.
