Grrrrr sad frustrated and need advice

honestly if it were mine I would rinse it really well in RO water and then seal it in with industrial desicant. I recovered a laptop that had been urinated on in college that way (don't ask)

Well it got worse. Phone **** off and wouldn't respond. Kept pressing buttons to turn on and nothing and still had that light stay on. AT&T said they couldn't help and go to apple. Apple said they could sell me new 4s for 199 and take my old phone. Not bad. But they also said an AT&T store can put service on a new sim and activate my old 3GS. Waiting for person for help at target mobile and kept messing with buttons and it came on all of a sudden

salt water is going to be the problem. it's possible that, whatever the desicant; will leave too many minerals to clean up whatever shorts are going on.

I've done the drop it in saltwater thing and watch the flashlight stay on in ma tank for 2 secs before darkness...rice brought it back and it still worked, but then I upgraded :)

Dude, why would you try and turn it on without letting it sit in a rice bag overnight? Trying to turn electronics on while there might be moisture is exactly how electrical fires happen.

Alright. So I went to a place in highland called mobile specialties. They took te phone apart and pulled battery to stop any further chance of possible damage. They have stuff to clean out water damage and the guy said he had cleaned out a 4s in march that had sun lotion in it and it work fine. So my fingers are crossed. And in while I'm waiting for that they had an adaptor to get my sim to work in my 3GS.

Got phone back today and its working great. Guy had to replace camera and maybe speaker I think. Said that it wasn't a lot of water on it and that usually when there is water damage it gets to a point where it goes to a safety lock out mode and demands to connect to iTunes which didn't happen. But here are to pics that got me into this problem in the first place

Well at least you managed to save the pics! Guess that alone was worth the repair bill cause they look GREAT!

I probly lessened the usefulness of the case cause when I'm just sitting somewhere ill open and shut and open and shut the case making the seal less sealy

When I left today I asked if it Gould be good or will I have problems down the road. He said could act up and he said if it does act up in next couple days I can take it bak and he can take out the still useable parts and figure something out with me. The way I look at it is he did what he can to try fixing what I messed up but when it comes to electronics and water nothing is guaranteed. So what I paid him for was his time an some parts that got replace to try making it work right. Now he might be able to give me some money back for some parts that still work and see if he has a phone to sell of just use my 3GS :(
