From one newbie to another...welcome! And all I can say is, that I will never post any pics of my tank now lol

I am not a fan of that range , we go up to the Racine range to shoot . you must pass by my house all of the time i am right before JS on the west side of the road .

+1 not a fan either, but least lame is all I gave it. I heard of another one in Eagle. Does that ring a bell? Sorry for the hijack. I'm going to start a thread on this in the lounge, because I would imagine anything you do you do Big and I want to know where you like to shoot.

Nope never heard of eagle , The biggest I have is a M2hB . I like to build them more than shoot them .

No wife , but the girlfriend loves the fish . she thinks i am crazy wanting to build a larger tank but I know what I would like to change and the only way to do it is go bigger .

I own a company that repairs and sells analytical instruments for laboratories .

What a fantastic/elaborate setup! All I cant think is the amount of work! Please give us some insight on what it takes for this to run.

That's is quite a elaborate system! The concrete sump and the MOV's connected to the computer is a freaking smart idea. Is everything controllable from a central location? What else can you moniter?

Well if anything ever forms up about a CR group tour to this piece of the ocean count the wife and me in. I can also fit three in the jeep so that's means anyone willing to split gas and from grayslake/gurnee can roll with me.

The whole system is controlled by a PLC and a touchscreen . everything is monitored and we have backups for everything , for example if a return pump is pumping 10% below it normal flow the system will turn it off , turn on a backup pump and then notify us to repair the old pump . there are ultrasonic level controllers in the sump and send floor surge tank to monitor the water level . the whole system is heated by boilers and a titanium heat exchanger and solar in the summer . cooling is by ground loop with cold water back up . there are 4 return pumps and one closed loop pump with 9 2 inch motorized ball valves for basic circulation . the sure has a 300 gallon tank on the second floor of the house that fills and dumps on either side of the tank by a three inch motorized valves controller by the PLC . that's the basics . the tank is 24 feet long , 10 feet wide and 10 feet deep . the walls are 10 inch concrete and the floor is 12 inches . each window is 6 feet by 10 feet and 2.5 inch thick and weigh 1100 pounds each . right now it is lite by 12 400 watt metal halides and we can grow acros at the bottom . I plan to add 4 more light soon .
