Help! Heater Malfunction!

And yes, I am guilty of not quarantining a couple of my fish. My tank has been up for 6-7 months now with no sign of ich to date.

leave your lights n everything normal. let it slowly cool down. i dun run a heater n my 75 goes from 77.5 in morn to 78.4 ish at lights out then throughout the night it always warms to 79 for sum reason.

Well, I just noticed my bubble coral releasing something into the water. Anyone know what this is? Should I remove it?

Really sorry to hear that A-dogg.

If it got that hot for a short period, I think your LPS and softies have a chance.

It will probably take them some time to recover. With all of the mucus and discharging from the corals, a water change might be in order once the temperature stabilizes.

Thanks man. I think a water change is in store tonight as well. Everything looks like it will recover other than my Frogspawn, Xenia, and not sure about the bubble. It opens, but is discharging something. Most everthing else in the tank is starting to open.

Any news today? How are things looking?

Just read this, sorry to hear and tell the mrs that there are worse more expensive hobbies, when we die the money we spent won't matter.Enjoy it while you can.

Thanks BADGUS. I hear ya, I tell her all the time. Just at the moment I'm laid off. Work construction and have winters off. So money is tight. Well, I had one clown jump. Must not have liked the heat! Other than that, all other fish are fine. As far as corals go. I lost all my Xenia, all my Frogspawn, and a huge finger leather. Odd, but my torch looks better than ever. The verdict is still out on my long tentacle plate coral, looks like it should recover though. Any idea how long I should wait to replace these corals? Thanks guys for your concern and advice. I appreciate it.

The galaxea is perfectly fine. Wasn't phased by the heat whatsoever! Everything looks pretty stabalized and on the way to recovery. I would really like to think about replacing what I have lost,(other than the finger leather) wasn't a favorite of mine. Just not sure when the right time would be? Don't want to rush anything.

That was one of the first things I did. So you think a few weeks for coral? How bout replacing my clown that jumped? My other clown is lookin pretty lonely.
