OK. So I saw Blake and Sarah at MCF yesterday and they are very open to working with us on a program. One idea is just to have a Texas Hold'm night.... the other is to have a week long time where a portion of proceeds and other activities could be put towards helping.

I am on my way out of town on business. If we want to move on this.... I would think we need to solidify a date with MCF and then start getting the word out. Perhaps the TeamCR group can assist. Yo.....Poidog and ErictheRed.... What do you all think?

I think this is a great cause to help a fellow reefer....and a great opportunity for us to have a nice event as a community at where else.... MCF!!!!
 
Thanks for taking the lead on this Dan. I'm catching a plane in a couple hours and will be out through Wednesday. Did MCF throw out any dates? I agree that we need a date before anythign else. We'll also then need to get a rough idea of a head-count and someone (more familiar than I about poker tournaments) will need to provide a little more insight on how to run a tournament. Tables, chairs, cards, chips, (beer (soda) & pizza)...etc.

I can say that I am presently free for the Saturdays in May, so count me in!

So lets pick a date. If you plan on going please vote for which date works best for you.

Remember, we have quite a few very active members who live in Indiana and It's already 30 minutes into the city for them. Reefwise and MCF are both the same distance for me so maybe someone can ping them and ask. If it were afterhours, it would benefit them and allow for them to have more people to sell to who couldn't make it during business hours. We'd all win!!

i like this idea.. we should ask mcf :) and im not great at playing but it'd be fun to play and see everyone again
 
Let us know what date works for you guys. We can work with almost anything as long as we have enough notice. :)
 
I don't play either. But it'd be nice to get out there. Maybe MCF can do an afterhours sale while the playing is going on for CR and some of the money goes towards the cause. Just an idea. Also I can not make it the 19th even if I wanted to
 
I would also highly suggest or make an input on the dates. Just for everyone. Remember that May 13th, the Sunday right after it is mothers day. Idk if people will be going out for dinners or spending time that weekend with family. Just a reminder. Also it'd be nice to do it the 26th as most of us have that Monday off due to Memorial day. You can always go and you have extra time on Monday for whatever you have to do.
 
I can make any of the dates, but Memorial Day weekend can sometimes be difficult to get people together. Some like to go out of town on 3 day weekends. I also don't know if MCF will be doing anything special that weekend.
 
Let's talk about living, not dying. I'd like to donate a keg of beer. $2 donation for a cup. (If OK with venue)



Edit: I just realized that my son's second birthday party is on 5/19. I won't be able to attend if that is the date.
 
Ryan, it seems you will have to request a MOD to remove certain post to keep this thread in line..

Folks refrain yourselves from negative post!!!!! This is for a good cause.. Lets be adults and help a fellow member in need
 
The 19th is comin pretty quick...Are you guys still game on this? I have two sets of chips that we can use. I've played home games and little tournaments before so can help with the set up. Any thoughts?
