I happened to stumble upon some pictures of mine today of my first large saltwater tank 8 years ago, and it got me thinking. I then looked back and discovered my first saltwater tank was set up almost 9 years ago! Prior to that I had freshwater tanks for maybe 5 years.

How long have you been in the hobby, and what made you start the hobby?

40 years at the age of 15 i had fish only. achillies tang and stop light parrot fish only cost 30 a piece and the panther grouper was 15 those were the days.
 
Got my first FOWLR tank in 1998. Took it to college with me and moved it every year, sometimes multiple times per year, from apartment to apartment. Did the same thing when I moved to Chicago and moved almost every year.

Bought a condo in 2011 and knew I’d be more settled. That’s when I started doing bigger tasks with corals.
 
4 years and that's my 3rd tank. Started with 32 bio-cube after 4 months upgraded to 72g bow front and one year later upgraded to 90g rimless.
