Ich break out

I'm dosing the Metro and Focus along with Garlic and it has made a HUGE impact so far!! After just a couple of days these guys are just about cleared up. Powder blue and purple have a little bit on on fins but what a diff it made!!

How much longer should I dose this stuff?

Thx

A month.

Just keep in mind that ich "disappearing" is the nature of the parasite. That's rather normal for its life cycle, and you will likely always have ich in your tank with this method, so just be prepared to monitor closely anytime you add new fish, or otherwise cause some manner of stress for your inhabitants. Best of luck, and I hope your tank stabilizes well!

This. Right here. The only true cure for ich is to go fallow, otherwise it will always be in your system. With the parasite in your tank you can think of it like the common cold, and a healthy fish will fight it off quickly. Ginger and garlic are supposed to be good to stimulate appetite and vit c boosts the immune system. Antibiotics are really pointless because it is a parasite not a bacterial infection, think about it, would you give a kid amoxacillan to cure lice? The only true options are to starve it out by going fallow for a few months or let the fish fight it off naturally. But as soon as your fish gets stressed be ready for an outbreak.
Ps. Use a Uv sterylizer to kill the tomites. I think it may lower you population of pods and good bacteria but it will kill tomites and algae stuffs.

If I had to venture a guess, I'd agree and say the metro doesn't do squat to kill the crypt but it likely helps the fish heal from the damage caused by the crypt which, in theory, would help the fish's immune system recover to a point where it can possibly manage the parasite on its own...like it does in the ocean.
