Ideas on fish for a 12gal NC

didn't poidog sell it already?

EDIT: nvm... i don't think he did... checked his latest stock list in his thread and didn't see it... gonna PM him and see how it's going. last i read it was eating Ova

Hola! I do still have the little guy. You are right I did forget him on my stock list probably because he's half way to going to the porcelain heaven.

Mine is a ORA blue, and he does not eat. He picks at Ova once in a while and does not eat any other type of prepared foods. He does not hunt either. He is extremely lazy and stays on the sand bed. currently he is emaciated.

I've done some more research and the spotted ones are having success eating prepared foods and being active. There has been a very low success rate for the blues with the same issues as mine, won't eat and very lazy.

I would not recommend an ORA mandarin for a 12g. If you are he'll bent in trying I would stick to the spotteds and if it is taking prepared foods it will benefit from multiple feedings a day.

A firefish would look nice. If you were doing maybe 2 fish I would a clown goby. I think they have so much personality. I love watching mine just chill on top of the corals.

thanks for the update!
wat bout no fish? just inverts
I've thought about that as well... possibly a pom pom crab and a sexy shrimp (gotta look if they're compatable with each other)
but i still prefer to look at something swimming around.

those are what i'm leaning towards as this point. MAYBE a pair of firefish or just one in the tank with the inverts mentioned above. Or i'm thinking I love the purple clown goby that live aquaria has but i'm not going to make an order and pay 34 bucks for shipping as i don't have anything else i need. Anyone know any LFS that has more than yellow clown gobies?

I'd do a pair of firefish. They are very pretty and interesting to watch. They also have good personalities. I also like the idea of a pair of yasha gobies with a pistol.

I just set up a pistol/goby tank. It's not my main tank. Would be a boring selection for your main tank. I would go with a nice pair of clowns. Contact Matt Crooks, user Crooks on the forum. He is local in the suburbs and breeds all kinds of nice clowns, youll be sure to find a pair you will be happy with and enjoy looking at daily. And his prices are MUCH better than ORA...

You might want to check BTR or call MCF for Sat event.

Can't make it to the saturday event:( still in iowa for school

How about a fairy wrasse or a possum wrasse

i think i'm done looking. I contacted crooks and he said he's only got some really small 1/2 inch clowns and if i pair them up that small, they got plenty of time to bond and grow out in the 12gal. I also have a great looking RBTA lined up already for the tank. So i think this is gonna be a bta/clown pair dominated tank. along with zoas and various softies like GSP and xenia.
