If it's not one thing, it's another.

I just don't know what's good or bad.. That's why I freak out. And I like the ID help because I can't type in google all of this stuff. and don't even know where I would begin looking otherwise.

its understandable.. ask away.. thats why we are here.. but just remember once ur tank becomes suitable for life.. you'll have all kind of oranisms and creatures coming out that u never seen before.. some good some bad.. but we are here to help so no problem.. :D

My tank is like a pod rodeo. for example In my limited experience; if they are really grouping on one frag it's probably a gonner even if it looks healthy right at first. (I'm in the school of thought that they are feeding as the thing dies, not killing the thing.)

The ones in my tank aren't that big. They're like micro specs! And I can only see them on the glass.

Thanks Jeff! I truly do appreciate it! I just like it so much I would hate to think nothing of something and have my tank crash somehow. I would be devastated.

BTW - whatever they are on my glass.. My potter's is munching on them. He's also been picking the rock in his cave.. Which is dark, and algae free.

no problem.. yeah we wouldnt want ur tank to crash also.. yeah all ur fish or inverts would start muching on the guys on the glass.. its food that all the fish and inverts like :) My clownfish and gobys love picking stuff off the glass.

It's just the potter's picking at the glass right now. BUT - I do have really coarse sand.. That I've heard is a good place for pods to grow without getting munched. Would that possibly explain why my goby hasn't been eating a lot? Because he's in the sand eating pods that are in there?

the sand bed is the perfect place for them plus the live rock..

For ur goby not sure.. just make sure ur goby is not losing weight or what not.. i knw my two gobys a yasha and a yellow watchman they do pick at the glass and rock but mainly they eat the Pe mysis shrimp or krill.. they are both pigs .lol

He's been in hiding. I feed my tank twice a day, and I rarely see him out for either feeding. He likes to come out during the evening when my dusk lights are on. He looks about the same as when I got him. Small, but I wouldn't call him skinny.

try feeding him more in the evening.. but just give him sometime and check on him.. i knw when i put my gobies in my tank they barely came out especially my yasha.. but once they get comfortable they will be coming out more..

I've had him for a while. He was doing really good at first, and poof - he's gone. Lol. Him AND the pistol shrimp bury themselves in their burrow at night and stay there till the end of the day. I'll probably switch feeding times tomorrow. I hope he's okay. Makes me nervous when I don't see him.

as long as the pistol is eating your goby should be eating as well.. they tend to share their food with each other.. but like i said.. just watch him and see that he doesnt lose weight or anything..

SO - I don't know what I was thinking.. I've apparently only had him for 9 days. O.o I just feel like I've had him for so long. Lol.

When my goby eats, I don't know if he shares.. he just seems to chomp it down when he does come out for mysis. But I guess I don't know if he's like a bird or a chipmunk with a secret storage pouch or something. Lol.

when i had a pistol shrimp.. what my goby used to do was chomp down on the mysis shrimp and bolt back to his tunnel and he spit out the mysis through his gills like a sandshifting goby.. it was cool..

I want that! Grrrrr. I would have gotten one if I would have known I was getting the pair and would never see them. Lmfao.

If they are really fast, they are probably shrimplets. I have some in my tank and they are tiny but buzz around superfast.

Whatever they are - my potter's is going nuts for the ones on the glass and rocks. They're floating around the tank and it kind of looks like a snowglobe, but with really small flakes.
