Lateral line/ hole in the head

Hey guys first off hello, this is my first posting even though I'm sure I've met most of you at one of the three shops I worked at or a fish expo. I've been in the hobby for quite awhile I just don't use the forums lol anyway I recently lost one of my beloved tangs and My wife and I found a tang she fell in love with that she asked me "hey babe what's that white all over his face and body" lol I had to explain of course the obvious lateral line disease to her. My question is I have never had a fish with one and after all my years of experience and book reading it seems like something that would easily go away by bringing him into my system where he will thrive and be taken care of above his needs. Has anyone dealt with this before or brought in a fish in hopes to cure this problem. Just looking for some insight.

good water quality and right foods ive seen it go away but depends on how bad also might not completely heal. spectrum pellets seem to help alot . definitly cause by poor water quality and poor diet

Ya it's not horribly bad. It spread a little past his face and is heading down his back, but no noticeable holes, just discoloration as far as I seen. I've definitely seen worse.

It's mainly the women wanting to "save it" and bring it home lol

my wifes same way . im usually ok with it as long as i get deal on it but ive seen stores trying to sell purple tangs with real bad hih and lateral line and fin rot for regular price

Ya I guess that's the good part of once being in the business... You know how not to get ripped off and what the store actually paid and how much they are marking up. But the downfall is you never want to buy anything anymore because of it lol

If there is anyone else who has had a fish with lateral line/ hih and successfully beat it, I would love to hear it. Probably gonna go grab this guy Friday unless I hear some scary stories.
