I just want to be guided in the right direction with my new tank seeing I wanna keep a sps dominant tank I can keep them in my current tank now but wanna do everything right with this one

Lol i hear ya u asked my secret well thats my secret. I started my reef with the most bs equipment im talking i have been doing this for over 10 yrs and until last november i used coral life super skimmers lol . Reliable dosers help big time although kalk kept stuff alive . My reef keeper defintly helps keep stability with the dosers and heaters . Stability is key dint matter if your water is crap or prstine as long as is stabile i get best colors when i have alage in tank ive had my alk as high as 16 and as low as 5 my calcium was 800 at one point but it didnt happen over night so corals got acclimated i guess u can say . I dont check phosphates nitrates only test i do is alk and calcium . U start chaseing numbers u gonna crash people see phophates to high they start dumping all types of goofy chit in tanks run a good refugium a decent skimmer ive been doing 20gal water changes every two months maybe longer i lose track lol. Temp stability is key ive had stn happen with temp swings took me while figure out i was haveing temp swings now i graph my temp so i can check if something is wrong . When buying frags dont by colonies from any where buy fresh cut frags from the top of coral ( pest lay eggs at base and dips dont kill eggs even if they say they do ) dip your frags and use t5 and u be good to go if i can do it any body can most people crash its human error
 
I got a reek keeper just don't have that link cable and have 2 brs dosers and I am running a 8 bulb tell t5 fixture my skimmer is rated for 150g I am at 130g total water volume

Cool, I got that myagi from menard's store in 2006, one of my first SPS. I'll post some pic's of my tank once I clean out my room, too much stuff in there. Still having issues with some corals not growing good, but did solve the HA problem I had by using a different salt.
The family is doing ok, one of my sister's is have a baby due in may, and my dog Zoey had acl surgery two months ago. She was playing with my other dog when she tear it, cost $4000 to get it fix.

Daym well least she is ok we had to put down one r dogs last monday he was fuked up bad . Congrats on being a uncle i wouldnt worry about growth some chit just needs time my ss and few others didnt grow for two yrs then bam grows like weeds lol corals r goofy
 
Sorry Joe, I had to do the same thing last year to my 18yrs old lab mix. And the year before that I lost my german shepherd to nose cancer.
Zoey is doing great, its amazing how they can fix these kind of injures.

Money fixes everything u a good man i put mine down cause i refuse to spend that kinda coin on him plus he was old
 
Zoey is only 6 so she still has many year left and if I didn't get it done the other leg would go to. So it would be even more money. For older dogs I don't think you can do to much for them, the surgery would to much for them.
 
Hey Joe, how long have you had your tusk for? Will you be able to tell me some more about them seeing you have one? I just bought one from AP, can't wait to get him acclimated and in the tank

Not very long bought mine from ap to maybe 2 months ago ish. I just chucked him in ate right away not much to know about em they will eat shrimp and small crustations pretty peacefull and not shy always out and swimming sometime they get picked on but they dont seem to mind
 
Ok, yah I just got mine today. He is only in the tank with 3 cromis and a Clown going to give him like 3 weeks and then I'll add my other fish, so he starts eating and being more active
