Mark's MMreef complete rebuild

Thank you everybody. Today I got home and saw small white patch with no tissue on my Green Slimer and found the reason for it. Bad,bad crab. I don't know how it got there but it will no longer eat my corals.RIP crab. :)

Beautiful setup Mark!!!!:clap2:

I am curious how you have your kessile and ATI fixtures set up. Do you think we can get a picture of them with the hood open? Thanks!

Time for an update,it's been a while.Unfortunately due to skipping quarantine I lost most of my fish in a matter of three days.I introduced ich with my Moorish Idol and since I am working so much now,I had no time to take my fish and put them in hospital tank.I guess I was hoping they will pull through it. No such a luck. Only fish left is my clown and magnificent rabbitfish. Also I could not stand sand in my tank. I took all out and going BB again. I like this look soooo much better, and it is so easy to keep it clean. I redid my aquascape too. I am much happier with it. All of my corals are doing great and growing again,I will have more coming in few weeks. Finally I was able to install my Kessils and I couldn't be happier with them. They add beautiful shimmer to my T5 fixture, looks very natural. I made three sided open top canopy for a cleaner overall look. Got a new skimmer SKIMZ SM 201 Monzter E-Series that is completely quiet and my wife is happy. My tank is in the living area and needs to be very quiet. Loudest things in my set up now are my Vortechs pumps. Speaking of Vortech, I sent my magnets out to replace them, since they were cracked and rusty. I could not believe it when I took the wet side apart to clean it. It is only 14 months of use.I was under impression that those are sealed to prevent this kind of things to happen.I hope EcoMarine will do right by me and replace those at no charge. Two months past one year warranty.I don't think this should happen.( very disappointing with a $450 pumps),imagine all this rust going in established SPS tank??? Somebody will be not happy if this happen to them. Right now I am considering going with Tunze pumps. I need to think about this little more. So this is it for now. Here some pictures.

Crazy good looking Dendros! Is that the combanation of lights you are using or is that the dendro's coloring?

That is its color. I had it under different light in my other tank it looked the same. I never saw this dendro variety anywhere else, got lucky I traded with a guy for some acro frags.

Your setup looks absolutely stunning Mark. I love what you have done with the stand and that canopy. Your aquascape looks incredible as well. You definitely know how to bring your A game ALL the time! I see you got a Watanabei. I absolutely love mine. She is the Queen in my tank. How is she doing and eating for you?

Thank you Gino, slowly everything coming together for me. Once it grows out with corals it will look even better.Aquascape is made with two things in mind:
1. to allow maximum flow around it
2. after having a reef tanks for few years now I have specific look I was going for (plenty of space for corals, not typical wall of rocks),and all rocks are bonded so no more slides and danger of cracking glass.
My Watanabei is great.I got it about 6 weeks ago. It ate only frozen, but now eats pellets, flakes and everything I put in the tank.It is very bold and not afraid of me,eats from my hand too.I want to have a pair and I am debating if I should look for a male or get another female and let it turn in to male.

Nice! Yea males are significally more expensive. One thing I've heard about Watanabeis though is that males don't always stay males. They are known to just turn. Also males are alot thougher to take care of. I wanted a pair as well. If I come across a smaller female at the right price I might just pull the trigger. It is an Angel to love though. The only Angel for me dominated by Wrasses.

Yes,I did some research and males will turn back into female when they are the only one in tank with no females. Once female is in tank, it will stay male.I think I will just get another female and wait.Just like you said males cost a lot more.It is also the only Angel that will be in my tank surrounded by small fish.
