Micro bubbles and skimmer question/problem

Does anyone have a eshopps 120 skimmer? The reason I asked is because I have this skimmer and I am fighting a micro bubble issue. The skimmer dumps a ton of micro bubbles into the sump and there is so many of them they seem to make it past a bubble trap and into my display. I don't know of anyway to slow the bubbles down that are exiting the skimmer and kind of hoped someone might have some ideas. It's a over and then under bubble trap and the skimmer output is about 8 inches upstream of the trap. It makes no sense to me as to why and I am ready to pull my hair out on it. Any suggestions or ideas? Thanks in advance!

I have the same one for about a month now. It took about 2 weeks until the micro bubbles went away. I made minor adjustments a few times a day untill i tuned it in. You just have to do your best to fight through it.

Well this skimmer has been running since before Christmas and is producing great skimmate. I really don't think it could be tuned in any better to be honest. I have it set making dry skimmate.

Run filter floss on the skimmer return, it will cut the micro bubbles,or run a small filter sock.

Every time I do something in that sense it is like closing the outlet off and starts the skimmer over flowing.....

I dont have same skimmer but if you could find a sponge like the ones that come with mag drive pump you can set it to where the outlet is and that should help but then again i dont know what that looks like so might not work good luck

Well I ended up taking a filter sock and cutting a hole in the bottom of it and sliding it over the exhaust tube of the skimmer. So the output is covered 360 degrees and 2 inches below the output all the way to the water surface....... Well that stopped 60 percent of it but I can still see them all over the tank. Now I'm clueless

is your return below the water level or above if below try to put return half pipe above water or place return from skimmer as far from return as u can maybe even some bubble traps will help

I had the same problem with an older Euro-reef skimmer I had. I ended up buying a huge sheet of filter floss from pet smart and inserting that into my bubble trap. The extra surface area ended up catching the majority of micro-bubbles making them turn into big bubbles by the end of the bubble trap.

Good luck! I ended up getting a used reef octopus skimmer off of ebay, and that has made all the difference!

Lol.....NAH I cant make anything bigger fit so I am stuck with what I got. I dont want anything out of the cabinet cause I want it all self contained.
