MP60 does not stay in place

It uses pads with a different thickness setting. I assume he has the wrong pads, and also not using the tools that prevent them from falling.
Thanks Skully and Gary. I can live with this situation for a while waiting for Matt (one MP out) and the tank will be OK with 3 of the 4MP60s running. Other three are running, but I run them only at 1/3 the max speed till I am sure I can retrieve them if they loosen up. Then I can ramp up the speed to max only for few minutes just to stir things up and keep the bottom cleaner..

Gary thanks for offering to come over. you are most welcome to come as a guest to see the tank if that is of interest to you but for this item it will get fixed somehow ...

I reviewed the video and I believe Matt installed the MPs as per direction. Except the sticky that holds the pump up in place, all or three out of four fell off shortly after placement and upon test running the MPs. and were left off, as once they fell off, the sticky surface is not strong enough anymore.

I can remove the pad (spacer) all together and place a sheet of paper on the sticky flat surface on the motor side if that would be OK and would not crack the tank????

My concern now is that they can keep falling off as there is nothing to keep them centered once the motor is running No corner stickies....

Do not try to remove the pad unless it states to do so with a rubber gasket. (if provided.)

How thick is the glass?

The MP60 I have is comprised of 3 parts: From left to right: The motor that is falling off A spacer that varies depending on thickness of glass and the propeller housing. (picture of a spare pump I have. Totally I bought five MP60s)

I can if it is safe to keep the spacer section out if that would help the motor from falling off once aligned and not crack the tank????

Glass thickness: 3/4 inch thick end panels where the MPs are mounted

It's my opinion that the spacer must be incorrectly installed (wrong one) on that tank.

You need the medium spacer. Hopefully you can look in the boxes and make sure none of them have the med still in the box.

Do you still have the box? I think there are three different spacers.

Ther are three different spacers and I strongly believe that the right spacer is installed.
1) I assume it is not recommended to not use a spacer.!!
2) so now how do I keep the pumps from falling off ????
Gary greatly appreciate your input and I do have the boxes in the garage stored somewhere

No problem, happy to help, that's what we are all here for.

1) Correct, the MP60 is designed to be used with one of the three spacers.
2) Two ways, the correct spacer and the user of the clip that comes with it for installation.

I'm going to continue to assume that the wrong spacer was used or the installation was incorrect for that ONE MP60 if it continues to fall off and not the others. Typically, when a VorTech pump is damaged it is the magnet not spinning correcting and misaligned, typically done due to rust, or bad install and it rubs and wears down. There are signed prior to this becoming extremely bad. Typically the wet side will get "thrown" inside the tank and it will also become increasingly loud, and I mean much louder then the RPM sound.

If the other ones also don't have the stickies on them and they are not falling off then that brings me back to my thought on the wrong spacer, or it's falling off and the others are fine due to the sticky being there.

Ultimately, we need to ensure the right spacer is there, I know it's hard to get back there, but can you compare the spacers from another pump too? If not, I'd highly recommend going through the garage and finding the boxes just to be safe.

Thanks again very much Gary Appreciate it
The wax paper is on the spare MP60 not in use
Three out of four have fallen over the past four five months . Mostly before the enclosure was enclosed.
Matt added all the extra stickies we had around and placed them around the last two that fell.
I can reach the motor but if I remove it to check I will not be able to realign it as taking it out with one hand is doable (I think) aligning both parts requires both hands which is not possible for me to do and I have to rely on a professional installer to show up and fix it and maybe he will need to contact ecotech... I do not wish to have four pumps that can fall and I cannot realign. I can try running full speed but again if they fall off I am in trouble so best for me to wait for Matt to show up and keep my fingers crossed that the other three Mps stay in place.
I will check to make sure the right spacer was used .. tomorrow I'll check in the garage and again my thanks

Retrieved the motor using magnet (Thanks John)
Confirmed that spacers are the right size
Talked to Alex at EcoTech he is sending more stickies to anchor AND place around motor. He recommended cleaning the glass thoroughly first and maybe use double anchors to hang and attach the motor
Hope that Matt can fix this with the limited space as I cannot ...
thanks to ALL for your help and positive support and hints

Was able to have the MP fixed in place close to the top and been working fine but not anchored... Matt said he will fix my situation with the MPs when he makes it over. Presently and understandably he has special family situation.
MP has been working for 24 hrs and is hanging from an elec wire and holding while running at low speeds
Thanks to U all for your contribution

What do U think the next step should be for a positive anchor for 4 MPs

What do U think the next step should be for a positive anchor for 4 MPs in a high Temp environment.
The one that got away recently is still working . Not in an optimal position for now but working ... and hooked to the ceiling with an elec wire

For a permanent solution and given what I got from ecothech what should I do that will be worry free for the long term: Pls provide your thoughts :

Rcvd from Eco Tech for my five MPs seven hanger tabs and ziplocks and coral glue.
I assume he is encouraging Matt to glue the tabs before hanging the unit. Is this good and will it hold when the temp in the enclosed space gets high say 90 maybe 95 or so.
Room has AC but enclosure which we love keeps heat and FR comfortable.. in Will this be good enough since tabs did fall off on all MPs in past?

Also rcvd four tabs ONLY to stick around the motor I think I need at least four tabs on each motor preferably six around each of the MPs.
DO I also use the coral glue he provided on those tabs. Willhave to place them on by feel only as they are inaccessible.
Your thoughts are appreciated.

I only have five inches of space between tank & wall where MPs go and that is only accessible from the top of the tank. Wire to right of fan is holding the MP that fell recently. The one on the other side of the return fell last month. On the other side of the tank the two there fell about 2-3 months ago. Running my system at low speeds to avoid loosing the MPs not very good for an 11 foot long tank

The glue on the mounting pieces suck. I've had them fall off within a month of putting them on. The only way I can see to fix this is superglue. Also you need to be REALLY careful with the spacing and the alignment of the wet and dry sides. Otherwise the wet side will eventually break. You will know it is broken when the magnet starts to get grooves in it. I've literally replaced 3 wet sides over this issue. Ecotech told me my pin spacer must not be correct but it was correct. This means that the only possible explanations are the dry and wet sides are slowly sliding out of alignment or the product is shoddily made.
