Well, yesterday I bought the first pieces of gear for my next system. I've been out of the game since 2010, so I'm very excited to get back in and apply everything I remember about reef keeping in to this new build. I have a somewhat specific plan for this predominantly SPS mixed reef, although I need to make a few more decisions. A big part of me wants to go bare bottom, and I'm also considering starting with 95% dry rock. I've got a custom frame being built at the moment, and I'll post my progress as it happens. I've got a long way to go, and I apologize that there's nothing to see here yet. I just want to document this one from the fist steps.

Well, there's two more pieces of gear to add to the pile. I got a Gyre 130, and a Trigger Systems Ruby 30 sump. I also ordered a Tunze Silence 1073.020 return pump, test kits & equipment.

I'm building a stand tomorrow, and the T5s will be here next week.

I have everything I need to be up & running as soon as I finish my stand. I'm building something more modern, like the elos, and Red Sea reefer. I'm about 75% done with the stand. It's tough to build something like this without a garage full of woodworking tools, but it's turning out pretty well. I just need a floor, doors, and a few coats of enamel.

So, I've got a coat of primer on there, and I was planning to paint it with black enamel, hang the doors, and call it done.
The issue I'm having is that I think it looks killer in white, and now I'm debating on exchanging my can of black for a can of white enamel.
I just want to be done and put the tank on there already.

I like the white! but does the tank have black trim? that would change my opinion.:spy:

Good point. It does have black bottom trim, and black caulk.
I'll have to see what it looks like with the tank on it before I decide. I'll see if I can get the neighbor to help me lift it.

You could always get a piece of 1"x3" finish wood and trim the bottom and top to match. Just make the top an additional 1" higher than the bottom of the tank and it will hide the black trim :)
