After having my 30g as a holding tank for my 100g tank I decided to finally take the plunge into SW. I got a killer deal on all my stuff.

Decided to trade my gar for some live rock lol.

So time for the deal for the month lol

35lbs base rock
25lb live sand
5lb live rock
Eheim powerball
Hydrometer (now i'm using a refractometer)
Half of a 5g bucket of salt mix

$60

Then i picked up 5lbs of live rock for $1.60 hahaView attachment 5425View attachment 5426View attachment 5427

What do you guys think of my aquascape?

For pw's I got a korolia 240 and the an 800

Light is a 24" 10k with a 12" strip of moonlight leds.

Any suggestions welcome, not to sure on placement of my powerheads. I have another 800gph i might take out of my 100 and put in the 30g but i think that might be to much.

I was surprise my tank cycled in 2 weeks. I waited 3 till i added fish and I've had my clowns now for a week and a half. Params are still perfect.

Current stock is 2 oscellaris clowns. Might go with a goby/pistol pair and thats it. I'd like to get some corals but I'm to cheap to buy a light lol

Just picked up 32g rubbermaid container for the ro/di unit. Hooked it up to give it a trial run and the sink fitting leaks but everything else seems fine. Easy fix but I won't be using it until I get a tds Meyer to see if my filters are still good.

thanks lol, total cost was like $4 for the bracket.

Yeah u might be right but it's a used system i picked up so why not just replace it all at once lol. $40 from BRS. I'll check it though.

On a side note though, just tested the water i get from dominicks and it tested at 35. THats worse then the water im' getting out of the filter lol.

thanks, i recently movd them both up and pointed them a little more down and to the middle. I was thinking about moving that little one in the top right corner to face the back section behind the rocks but i didn't want a circular flow in the tank. I head thats not good to have.

I have the opposite right now. THey are in the top corners facing the middle and mid tank. Think i should move them? I cant really put them back and low becuase they would be blocked by my LR

yea, looks that way. as long as its not stirring up your sand should be fine. hows your surface agitation with it setup like that?

i have the large ph up high enough that the top flow breaks the surface and also my HOB fuge breaks the surface so it's pretty good. I Adjusted the direction of the powerhead to make sure i had it breaking the surface. Since it's so big i have big enough flow pattern to hit the surface and hit most of the way down the tank

i thought about putting my other 800 in there but i thought it'd be to much flow. May up the 240 one to a little higher in the future though. THanks for ur input
