My first 30g sw tank

Joe, those are my clowns name as well. We own every season on DVD. BEST SHOW EVER!!!

And Dre, yours is technically a 40 gallon with all that sand!!

No, think i'm going to just run some 48" t5no lights for now until i can find some money. I'm getting the lights for free. I have 2 60" ones on my 100g

So figured out where i'm putting the tank. Had to move my kitchen table, couch and re-locate a wall vent.

Also i dont think i ever posted a finished HOB fuge picture. I only put a 50w heater on there and my tank stays a constant 77*. So if anyone wanted to know u can keep a stable temp in a 30g with only a 50w heater.

Got a picture of my peppermint (pepper) and my cleaner (pierre)

thanks, gonna paint the backglass today and then probably start filling it. I got a 32g brute in the basement filled so it'll get atleast half full today lol.

On a side note it took about 7 hours to fill the 32g brute. So i'm assuming i probably have a 100g per day unit?

Got it painted and drilled. FIguring out a possible drain/return set-up.

Thanks to George for the help drilling these. Not gonna lie when he asked me to do one i was worried lol

Of the people i've talked to and met on this forum it amazes me how nice and willing everyone is to help. Seems like everytime I meet someone in person they are offering me free frags and such lol. I wish I had more to give back to the community but i guess that will come with time.

Very nice I felt the same way when he showed me how to do I when we drilled my 150. Overall Nice progress good luck with the plumbing

Oh man, where you gonna put all that water again when you lay down all your new sand? I told ya drilling is super easy. Looking forward to seeing this tank going. I know your looking for a light, kerber has a really nice 6x54w t5 with moonlights for sale with good bulbs, pretty good price on it too. You should look into it. Would be a good fit on your tank to get started for a while.

lol, i'll do the sand like i've done in my other tanks that are filled. Scoop sand with a bowl and dump it at the bottom of the tank. I get some dirty water but it goes away after a while. Not gonna have the fish in here yet. Gotta get some sand and start mixing the SW and bring it up to temp. Then move it all over

new updates. Got all my stuff from BRS. Installed all my new RO/DI filters and now i'm getting 000 out of the tds meter. Trial fitting the bulkheads in the tank. Looks awesome. Now just gotta find a pump to plumb into. Gonna probably just put shut-off valves on some pvc to close the wholes temporarly.

Hopefully some bigger updates soon.

quick question, i couldn't tell what filters i was taking out excpet for the first one which was the 5 micron sediment filter.

2nd i put the 5 micron carbon block
3rd was the .6 carbon block
4th RO membrand
and then i filled my 2 DI resin canisters. The kit included 2- 1.25lb bags of DI and i Only used 2/3 of the bag to fill both my canisters. I made sure i packed the hell out of the canister.

Is that order right?

•Purtrex 5 Micron Sediment Filter
•MATRIKX CTO 5 Micron Carbon Block
•MATRIKX CTO 0.6 Carbon Block
•2 - 1.25 lb. Color Changing DI Resin Refills
