Need help with possible algae issue

So let me correct myself. Now that I'm thinking about it. I did the bottle of Kent tech m probably a week or so before I got the dual reactor running so to be clear..... Not sure what helped more, getting my magnesium back in line with the Kent tech m or the dual reactor with gfo and carbon.

I don't know for sure but you raise your mag to1600 I think but you have to use tech m mag. There's a discussion on it posted on a different forum.

I don't feel like doing the research right now, but isn't the Tech M treatment for bryopsis, not Dinos?

So I'm a bit confused as to some test results I just did. I tested my nitrates with 2 different kits. Salifert and api. I've been doing my reading on salifert by taking the number on the chart and dividing it by 5. (Fellow reefer here suggested) so I'm thinking I have 5ppm. After testing with api, it looks more like 20ppm. Can it be that I'm just reading the salifert test wrong and I really am in the 20-25 ppm range?

You are close. I can do you a solid. Bring over a 100ml or bigger sample of water and I can test it on the lab gear I have at the house. I'll be able to tell you exactly what the ppm is and you can comapre it to your tests to know what is correct.

That would be great thanks

I read somewhere that there aren't any critters that eat Dino's and if they do they will die! Is this true? If it is, my snails must be immune to it because they are doing great. Unless it's not Dino's at all...........
