NEW Buyer/Seller Feedback Ratings

I think we need to consider a minimum of 10 posts and 10 days for posting FS (30/30 is too much). Or even just REQUIRE a real introduction thread and/or build thread. We're all rightfully paranoid of the interwebz and when new people start on here with FS posts they may not be considering how that can be viewed by the rest of us nervous nellies around here (especially with no pics and asking for personal information just to see what is for sale). And perhaps if Eyereef re-wrote the FS rules it would make them more legitimate. (when people are no longer mods their sticky's just look preachy) Just a suggestion.

I like the build/ introduction thread idea. With a minimum post but 50 might be a little much.

Maybe you have to have a paid/1000 post member sponsor you before you can sell? Just a post count is going to lead to a bunch of "nice rock work" posts. This last issue completely went away once puffer and mark vouched, but the seller was really lucky they did.

Or fs threads need to be approved by a mod prior to 30 posts or something? We want to be as little like "other" forums as possible, but even their craziness is rooted in reality (if not inclusiveness). We want to welcome new people without having to worry about getting burned.

Wow so that would mean I have been here since March 2011 but still wouldn't be able to sell anything on here just because I don't have 1000 posts and am not a "paid" member?

Now that would be a little harsh!

Re-read it "old guy" (but younger than I) LOL

(Bold and Italicized for clearer view) hehehe

I don't really see a problem with new users posting fs threads. Seeing as how these fs threads are local buys, it's not like someone can steal your money over the web. Go there, if you don't like the product, leave the house.

My only concern is people using this site purely for selling these and not contributing to the site. As others have posted, requiring a minimum post-count is only going to flood the forum with 'x2' or 'great work' with no intention on the actual thread.

I think it's up to the buyer to be responsible in knowing if the drive is worth it or not. Do some research on the user, if he has a low post count and you don't trust the user, no need to move forward or take any additional steps. Just click Back.

I just found out about this forum and really excited about a local reef forum, but I don't want it to be like reefcentral where users above the 30k post count are kings and say whatever speaks their mind, while u 100 count users will be banned for whatever retarded reason the 30k user would like it to be.

how about also adding like a seller rating.. everytime someone buys something from someone they can rate their experience...1 star being the lowest to 5 star being the best..

just had a lot of spammers and scammers thats why we are trying to implement this.. plus posting 50 or lower really doesnt take all that long..

Thanks G it all clear now that it's Bold and Italicized for these old eyes lol

I know it was a just suggestion about the paid/1000 post and I was just saying

that it would be a little harsh if it were to be that way that's all.
