New Fish on Milwaukee and Division

New Fish on Milwaukee and Division has started getting some real nice corals in recently. I was in there last night and the owner said he was getting a real nice shipment in Friday. Just FYI to fellow reefers.

I like his prices a lot too... I just picked up a huge zoa variety rock with like 200+ zoas for $30.

I found their coral prices to be great. I actually got a frag of red hornets here for around $5 when they had a coral clearance. Haven't really compared fish prices.

Sarah, that is an awesome deal on the rock.

I have been in there a couple of times. The staff is friendly, and seem fairly knowledgeable. I picked up a beautiful clam and nice sized sps mini colony this weekend for a good price.

I been there people r super nice fish r little pricey the corals and clams had good prices . Until aefw came on one threw it away never went back

I just picked up a really heathy firefish from them this weekend. The firefish itself was $22 which is average. I do like that they QT their fish for 2 weeks before putting them into display. At least that's what the guy told me =P. I thought their coral prices were kind of expensive. They had small frags for $30. After hearing that, I didn't even bother asking about other stuff they have. Overall, I will be back to check out their stuff once in awhile. They emailed me about a tail spot blenny coming in, but it was sold before I can get there on the weekend. Hopefully, they get another one in soon.

Yea, I had a feeling it was kind of expensive. I know online vendors sell them for $10-$15. But most places in the city are expensive compared to stores further out in the burbs. I have seen purple ones close to $30.

I look at it like either way I was going to spend that extra $5-$10 on gas to get to another LFS. So in theory I paid the same.

Old Town and New Fish are in the same areas, which anything in the city is going to cost more than other locations becasue of the communities they are established in. Old Town can jack up the price on a fish becasue they can do that and people in that area will buy it becasue they have the cash to do so. Same thing goes for New Fish, they can jack the price up and people in that community will pay for it.

Now if your coming from the suburbs and expect a deal and low prices might as well stay out that way casue you're going to see more inflation than deflation in corals and fish with Crook County prices. Not saying they are crooks but cook county raps the women and men in the city that own businesses.

I actually thought new fish coral prices were great but the aefw scared me away. I dont go to oldtown new been there probably never will my pockets aint fat enough. I might go back to new fish but i will definitly only look at coral and dip the chit out of em

Living a few miles away from the store is a big plus. Their prices aren't too bad like old town. James, the owner, can usually order specific fish you are looking for. The employees are knowledgeable. They do have a qt system that I was shown in the back. Most of my fish are from there. Overall, nice store.

James doesn't sell you any fish that isn't QT'ed before selling, hes a good guy.

I like these guys, they're fish are qt and i dont have to drive far. James and his staff are always cool and will talk about stuff with you. The prices are imo are a bit above what you would normally pay but its offset by the QTing and the location. A+ in my book.

I live just down the street from them, I always thought their prices were on the high side. I bought an emerald crab from their once that was black in color. He went rogue on me and has put me off from emerald crabs and the shop itself. haha

But ****, 200+ zoas for 30$ seems very reasonable. Any pics?

Their Fish prices aren't that bad compared to others in the city, as many here have said. I paid $75 when I was a super n00b for a Lubbocks fairy wrasse at old town. Yea, they normally go for $30. Granted it was a great and healthy fish but $75 compared to $30? That is what city prices are like in Old Town.

The shop in Norridge and this one are decent on fish. Livingsea is too if you sign up for the newsletter and catch a fish you need on sale. Like Frosty said, the gas and traffic to hike up to the burbs to save a few bucks is not a deal.

I still have to meet James and i want to see the back room! Actually I might go today.
