I love it. This is exactly want I will be doing in the next few months. My closing is today and my basement already has a room perfect for a fish-room ready and waiting. Happens to be right next to the bar and already has a utility sink too..

Looking forward to seeing this tank continue to progress!

STILL HAVE A TON OF WORK TO DO! skimmer will be up and running today then i need one of my smart friends to come do the apex.... thanks for all the kind words.. the scape is different i think its gonna look awesome once it clears up

Apex is really easy once you get into it. A lot of resources online too (for programs already written). If you have any questions I'm happy to help!

Also we need an update!

Agreed, apex can be daunting, but with paitenance and a little tech savy skills, it's not bad at all.

I have some tech savvy friends who can come help me i'm literally computer slow.... cycle is complete via dr tims and shrimp.. some fish from my previous display will be added this weekend hopefully and more are in qt... my phosphate is at 0 and its been running this whole time without a water change. Is it safe to say I wont have much phosphate leech? worried about throwing any coral in because i dont want it attacked by the algea bloom if that happens

Skimmernis finally running and the big heater has been moved to the sump

I do think I will be running a heater in the main tank though. My basement is cold.... I am gonna stuff it behind the rocks only 300 watts too if there's a failure it shouldn't cook it

that's a good idea.... i'm going to do this....
+1

I did this also when my tank was in the basement. I also purchased another pm1 and temp probe for a backup to ensure that I wouldn't cook my sump in case the return pump stopped working (or something along those lines).

I also had a secondary return pump on an outlet that was off on my apex in case something like that came up and I couldn't make it home.

Redundancy and back ups are so crucial!

I'm literally in love with how this is playing out. Thanks to the help of Cody ( anarchy) and keith854 plus the support of all the local reef shops like aquatica/Reefwise and Dave at AP! After spreading the love the last 6 months we got to this point. Can't wait to see her really take off and get my frag system up on the main tank and in the fish room. I follow the method of KISS it's worked well so far don't overthink shit! Now just To program my apex ha ha who wants to help?!?
