Newbie Starting with Zero Edge

Thanks for all the compliments, but it's his tank and his INCREDIBLE top down aquascape. It's honestly one of the best I have ever seen. All of the rock was from a mature system and was transported submerged. Hoping to add a couple fish Tuesday after a water test confirms it's safe.

How can you go wrong with a view like that. Nice setup! I'm gonna need that light leveled a bit ;):)

It's 100% level. Trust me. I KEPT thinking it was off. Got out the real level and the iphone level and both say it's perfect. Must be the photo or maybe the actual housing is bowed or something.

Something to think about.. I and most others perfer a photo period during the night time (as I assume you will since most of us are home and looking at our tanks at night.) Having all that natural light during the day and running your lights at night can = to much light. It could eventually promote algae growth.

Really nice tank. You are in good hands and have found yourself a nice SW community here. GL and I look forward to seeing more pics down the road as you add stuff.

you know I saw one of these guys in the only LFS that carries them in South Elgin. They are super slick. I asked about not being to put snails in them and the guy told me that the snails climb out and clean up the outside part of the glass. And since the flow isn't too strong they actually climb back on the outside of the tank to the inside. I really was tempted until my 8 month old stuck her hands right in the water... then I realized this would not work with kids... so I decided against it. But they are super clean looking tanks

There is a pretty slick rimless setup at AA in Hoffman estates that looks like a ZE, but the overflow system is setup to keep the water like 1/8" below the rim of the glass. Same look, slightly more kid friendly.

No snails in zero edge tanks. When they climb over the edge the water catches their shell and ends up shooting onto the floor/wall/etc. Not a pretty site!

Zero Edge actually makes a non-overflowing line of tanks now that are just like what you describe.

Yeah I saw both at that LFS in South Elgin... Can't remember name. They had them set up... they actually had snails in the zeroEdge that's why I asked him. With my luck my dogs and daughter would probably put the snails in their mouths!! And the tanks are nice, but another thing is that they are acrylic. I wasn't comfortable with Acrylic.

Added his skimmer today. It's a big boy for this tank but already started producing foam!

We're just waiting to find an SL1 somewhere so we can get the ATO going. They are out of stock at most of the normal places we all order from (PA, BRS, MD, etc.).
