Poidog's 70g Tech Tank Build

The new iOS update makes iPhone shots of tanks look like crap. Don't even waste your money, get a dslr. You can get a good deal on a used one or woot has them once in a while. The lens will be your biggest expense.

I still want a good dslr, but the ones I am looking at are around 4500 for the camera and macro lens. Its going to have to wait.

For now, I am fine with my 200$ point and shoot lol. Picture would end up being better if I focused on the correct polyp up front instead of the middle one!

Haha. Not bad! You don't need one that's that expensive unless you're a pro photo nut. Get a canon t1/2/3i body and a 100mm macro (and a tripod) and you're out the door at $1500ish new.

Just got my new look down portal... here's a quick tease...

SOOOOOOOO I just thought I would share. Last night I was working on fragging and I got some super glue on the top of my tank (I have a plastic eurobrace around the top of my tank that makes a very handy work station). It was driving me nuts trying to get it off. So first I tried to scrap it off, that didn't work. I didn't want to use acetone in fear of crazing the plastic. So brilliant me thought I'll buff it out! Took the dremel out... but on a buffer pad and..... [insert dremel noise].... instead made a big divot in the plastic. :shout: at least the super glue is gone.... D'oh! made it 10x's worse. I just can't leave stuff alone!
