Poison Dart Frogs - my build and general info

Mistking misting system arrived yesterday and the build budget is blown. Amazing how all the little fittings add up yet all fit in such a small box. I'll be quite happy to stop manually misting. I probably could have gotten away with 3-4 misting heads, but I decided on 11! No matter how plants grow or what I change I'll be able to ensure even misting to all areas.

Well, live and learn. Now that I have the misting system mostly installed I'm googling the part# on the misting heads/nozzles. They are much, much cheaper from the other resellers.

marking on nozzle; 0.7-80-F
Most likley part# 22211078002 - 80deg .046 lit for bar3

Found them for sale in the USA for $1.31ea

I've got a couple extras from mistking and want to use one as a drip emmiter to water a plant. Hopefully careful enlarging of the hole will yield good results...

I've had poison dart frogs for the past four years. I did research for over a year and worked on making a realistic terrarium. I made a false bottom and implemented two waterfalls, one curtain and one cascading. The false bottom was nice because you can put an aquarium heater in the water under the gravel and clay balls and it keeps the whole thing warm and humid along with the waterfalls. I also made a false pond so the frogs could submerge and not breed (I had 12 different kinds of dart frogs all living together) as the water collected and drained but was never standing. I also made the background by hand using styrofoam and cutting each layer like a topographic map. A little quickcrete, silicone and non-toxic paint gives you this:

All the plants but the begonia are taking off with remarkable growth and color, here's a couple of the flowering plants. The green based red topped one with purple flowers is an air plant! who knew they could be so colorful?

Just the nozzels, the misting pump is essentially a RO booster pump but higher pressure. Mistking doesn't have it marked up much, they make their money on nozzels and fittings.

No good update for those following. The mistking is still giving me problems. It has a small air leak somewhere in all the fittings that allows the pump to get an air bubble. The pump does self prime, but it is far from quick to do so. Due to this it does not mist properly at my set interval. Still going through all the fittings one by one to find the leaker, painfully teadous. Until I can get all the bugs worked out and possibly add a eheim canister filter, I won't put any frogs in this tank. I'm considering the canister filter to help with the detritus that builds up due to the still water. The water fall pump circulates the water, but is far from enough to help.

WOO-HOO!!! Frogs will be ordered tonight! Been waiting for joshsfrogs to put a RETF for sale for some time so I emailed them today. They are retiring some of the breeding pairs and will send one along with my PDF order.
