Im planning on running a TLF 150 reactor, and i need to know what pump to use. Im gunna run it in my stand and pump into the rear chamber of my BC29 its gotta pump atleast 48" back up into the tank, so i was thinking i may need something bigger than the MJ1200.

The tlf 150 needs barely any flow to get it tumbling. I have a tiny rio on it right now and my valve is pretty much turned almost all the way down. I think the rio puts out around 86 or so gallons per hour. I think if you went with something smaller than the mj1200, you should be fine.

What you use the reactor for? GFO or Bio pellet? GFO you don't need strong pump but Bio you need strong to tumbling the pellet. Check out some Video on BRS site and it will help some ways.

For the lift you need, an mj1200 will be fine. You will still need it turned down probably. If it's for Phosban, it just barely needs to move like Mai said

Yes i want to use it for lowering phosphates, which would better? Pellets or GFO?

I would personally go with GFO. Much easier to use, and without a ton of research, biopellets can crash your tank if used improperly.

Bio just lower you Nit, lower a little Phosphate and easy to crash like Dom said. GFO will lower your P to zero in Hanna Phosphate Checker.

Always run 1/3 or 1/2 of amount recommend.

Ya i was planning on just running GFO my nitrates are fine. My phosphates having to be fueling the cyano i keep getting to come back. Used chemi clean twice now. Is it possibly leeched into my sand?

Ok im prob going to either use the rio 1100 i already have or just buy a new MJ1200. But id rather not spend money if i dont have to. Anyone see a problem using this pump?

You should be fine with that pump.

Ya with the rio with the lift i need i think it runs at 287gph with 3' of lift. So i should be good.
