Just got this guy in today. Reefs2go.com says hes reef safe but of course I start hearing they are not. Now im confused considering I normally trust them. So is there maybe different species that are reef same and some that arent? I need to know soon. Dont want this guy eating my $100 clean up crew first night I get them.

on pure size of that beast id say no way , looks like a nem on its shell pretty neat but looks like it takes up some space i your tank which would scare me of smaller inverts /sleeping fish just my .02

Yea. I guess it was miss communication I thought it was going to be a 3/8" nem crab. Maybe thwy meant size of nem. It has 2 nems on it though. I like it, but might be moving it to the fuge...

Looks awesome, but I wouldn't trust something that size. Not only with my livestock but if all your rocks aren't glued I'd be worried about a rock being knocked off and cracking the glass even though you seem to have larger pieces.

Yeah hes going to the fuge in the morning. Im going to change up the fuge anyway and make it bigger

Oh whatt? No way those are reef safe. Like stated above.. they're opportunistic. Those guys will tear anything up they can get a hold of. The bigger the crab the more dangerous... whether it's emeralds, hermits, arrow crabs, etc. Looks cool with the anemone on it's shell though. :D

Yea im just hoping my algae keeps him busy tonight then when I get home in thw morning itll be moving

Whats the bright green at the top of the rock?

Looks like sand-covered algae. You need to get busy with a brush & get all that algae off by hand. Your CUC can't take care of all that on their own.

Oh lol since I have a 5 month old son I have plenty of bottle brushes
