Does anyone have any experience or know of a build thread were someone made a sliding light rack that could pushed back and forth to facilitate maintenance.

I have one made out of channeled extruded alm. How long if a spread do you need? I have some left over. Can post picture later.

Are you talking about a hanging fixture or fixture with legs that slides back?
I'm looking to mount a 6 bulb t5 retrofit to some sort of light fixture that would then slide back and forth on a sort of channel. So it woulnt be either really since it doesn't hang or sit on top of tank. I'm just looking for ideas on how others might have done theirs.

I would love it if you could post a pic. Not sure how much I need as I'm still trying to get design ideas of how to make I guess u could call this my brain storming phase.

Since it sounds like a wide fixture compared to a pendant, you probably will be sliding it back and forth rather than side to side. I have mine on one rail for side to side one long channel. Front to back would be two channels. Easy enough, when lights are on tomorrow I will take a picture.

Hope this helps, I have some channel left over. I manage a recycling co, so I have all the materials that I can ever need, tons of extruded alm. These are even help support my stand.
