some help please

Get on YouTube and find the BRS videos about kalk, there are a couple of them and really helped me when I started it. They go through what it is, what it does, how to mix, how to dose. Very informative. I put mine in the ATO and for me its the best way, but there are other options too

Thats what I want to do, how big of a system do you have? As you can see I an not going them much and I don't want to risk anything that's why I have 21 questions

So I decided that I am going to do 5g with 2.5 tea spoons to start with I think that should be a good start. What do you gut think?

Why not use a doser ? They are pretty cheap these days

If u t using kalk account for only alk and dont worry about calc .. And remember you have to account for mag seperately

If I get a doser then wouldn't it just be better to go 2 part?

I've been doing Kalk in my topoff for over two years and never had a problem. I have a bunch of SPS and i think I still have a while until I need to go to a calcium reactor. Your plan above seems like a good starting point. When you first start, you need to test alk often to get a feel for how your tank reacts to different strengths of Kalk solution. I test alk every time my ato runs dry. This allows me two tweak the mixture on the next batch of solution I mix up. I do see more evaporation in the winter, so I do have to adjust my mixture slightly. No a big deal. I mix up 25 gallons at a time and it lasts me about 5-6 days.

Big Kev's recommendation of cacium powder is a good one too. I've never used it, but I've seen his tank and it is full of SPS. It also seems really easy.
