Sponges feed on coral mucus: Recycling waste on the reef

Slightly related to the thread. TBS and Liverocknreef have a minimum order of $100 bucks. If you come across a by the pound sale, it is going to be hit or miss.

I did a long search for live rock vendors. It seems these very live rocks have thier own category as "Deco Rocks". Minimum $40 for coralline encrusted and $60 for deco rocks.

You get some halimeda with it, though. Expect the rock to be really dense gulf rock.
