Steveo's upgrade 120 gallon

Good deal, I noticed that it really makes a difference what the condition of the wall behind the tank is in. At my last place the wall was perfect and I loved it with no paint. At this place there was one stupid nick in the wall, would have never even noticed it if I didn't spend hours on end staring at the tank!

Well looks like I have to some how pull money out of my ass and buy a new sump! No matter what it will not fit in the stand. Misses by 1/4in!

So I picked up a Berlin style sump yesterday. I was very limited on what I could fit without having to remove the tank.

Decided to do most of the plumbing soft plumbing.

glad u got that taken care of and i was thinkin instead of try in add a fuge or swap sumps later u could always go with a algae turf scrubber depending on the size of ur skimmer/skimmer section probly wouldnt be to hard to add a waterfall style ats

I'll look into it. I think I'm going to try out carbon and gfo reactors and this time and see how it goes without a fuge.

Got up this morning and the tank was still pretty cloudy from not rinsing sand. Ran and got my skimmer, did a quick rinse in RO water and then added it into the sump. Hoping it helps clear the tank up quicker. Salinity is 1.025 still. Hoping tomorrow after work I can get the rock/fish/coral over.

Awesome!

Looking at your plumbing; are those hose clamps stainless steel? If not, you'll probably want to swap them out.

so a little update.

3 days after adding the fish i had a small trace of ammonia and nitrite but for the last week I have test and its all gone. This was with using all live rock from old tank (kept it wet the hour it was out) along with dry sand and some DR tims.

All fish and coral are doing good.

my duncan coral doesn't open as puffy as it used to and one of my frogspawns is opening up more now. I think it has to do with placement.

this weekend I plan on installing the apex (it was on the old tank till yesterday) and doing my best at making the stand stay looking neat! I'm thinking of securing the electronics on the side door of my stand. This way i can just open the door and have access to all the electronics and it will be on opposite sides of my sump.

here is the view from my recliner (i know i should of turned the iphone when recording)
