Tangency's 90 Gallon

Nice aquascape! I have to agree with what you are planning. I'm running 6 T5's over my 90G and have no problems with light. Also, those vortech pumps are supposed to be awesome. You may or may not need a 2nd pump on the right since the vortechs send out a wide flow. My guess is that you'd probably want another and probably on a wavemaker to create a nice back and forth sway. You will probably also want to get something small, like a nano Koralia, to put in the bottom right to keep water moving behind your LR. I hope you keep posting pics as the tank grows :)

New Additions

The idea of symbiotic relationships have always fascinated me. In hopes of keeping a few in our setup we have added a Randalls Shrimp Goby this weekend. We also picked up a frogspawn. I would like to think I have a basic understanding of their needs but if anyone has any pointers about keeping them extra happy let me know :)

Just an update.
I have been going through a Cyano battle but as I mentioned I am making progress.
Each head of my Frogspawn has split. Yay! I have added a Bubble Coral, Trumpet Coral, Hammer Coral, Ricordea florida & Palys (thanks George!) Pink Birds Nest Coral, a Toadstool leather which has already gown at least an inch, a Cleaner Shrimp, and a six Line Wrasse.

Here are some pictures:

I moved them to the other side of the tank with the green LPS. My 'grand' vision is to have the tank divided into sections of similar color.

I would upgrade my skimmer,i had a nw1110 on a 34g and worked ok,you need the 150model to better hanle your tank.Lookingg good so far tho.

First, thank you everyone for the compliments and advice.

Some new equipment for the tank arrived today. YAY new toys! My wife and I are excited about the new light. The corals are already reacting much better. If anyone has any experience with light acclimation on the ATI fixtures I would love to hear it.

hey jeff,

LMK if you wanna maybe sell a mushroom or two like we talked about when I came over and got the hydrometer! Also if ur interested I made two frags off of my GSP colony and one of them is doing really well and looks great if you want it for your tank as a thanks for the hydrometer. If you still have my # then shoot me a text otherwise PM me!

Some new updates to the aquarium...

We added a DIY hanger for our new light fixture. Having the light above the tank helps with both ease of maintenance, coral acclimation, the removal of the glass tops, more light penetration and more water evaporation. The bent conduit hanger was not my first light mounting choice. Because of limited access to tools and an air duct above the tank, it will have to work for now. We also added a RKL. So far, it has been really helpful keeping track of PH and light timers. It will fit in with our future automated dosing/top off plans. We also recently added a Wheeler's Goby and a pink Montipora Digitata. Here are some new pics:

Update

I worked on cleaning up and organizing the aquarium a little this weekend. I cleaned all the pumps, skimmer, tuned my heater, swapped out filter socks, and did a large water change. This week I also added a few SPS frags thanks to Brett who was extremely generous. His tank is awesome. Thanks again. Upcoming plans/purchases include a combination of ATO, dosing pumps, kalk and or two part to help maintain stable parameters but I still need to do a little more research. Our zoanthids are finally starting to multiply now after a battle with zoapox which cut there numbers in half and our Wheeler's Goby decided to jump. :(
