Here we go for another round of pics :)

i upgraded to radion G3 Pros ... my only gripe with this light is .. why didnt i do this before .. definetly not worth its price tag of $750 as far as i can say but def worth 5-6 times over the Chinese led lights what ever flouroscence and radiance im getting out of chinese lights at 100% blues im now getting it at 15% .. and their 20k preset is spot on i have seen 20k Mh lamps and it looks identical if not same ..

thanks to you Josh and Nino for helping me out and making my tank look this beautiful .. and Jayjerk for making me such a beautiful stand

Here is the tank under them ..

little more blue

how it looks from the couch at night

New Purchases from cornbred .. yes his pieces are tiny ass frags ..

CB Fire Breather and CB Crazy Clown

Bahama Mama ( thats a one inch disc .. its gonna take for ever to grow so im gonna forget i have this piece ;)

CB Vitamin C chalice .. its insanely bright under blues and well this is an exception and a nice piece ..

My fav area of the tank, under radion these corals are sooo vibrant ..

thanks nino for this beautiful boobs

just another top down shot

got it from AP as a one inch frag months ago but colored up beautifully

How do you like it compared to kessil

Well.. let me put it this way.

if i dont have sps and if i keep lps and Nems ..i wouldnt do any other led than kessil .. but now with Josh igniting my sps bug back again with his generous frags ( more like mini colonies ) and them thriving in my tank ..i wanted to keep em all lol sps, lps everything ..

i have reviewed and compared almost all leds, mh and t5 ..

out of leds only kessils and radions stood out ..
Kessils because : i am as you see mostly chalice guy and love chalices of all the corals .. Nothing ever colors them up better than kessil, i was asked if i am keeping them under MH when i had them under kessil .. and so is the case with acans .. Rainbow acans wont turn orange under kessil ..

Radions cause : they are extremely powerful .. didnt realize how much power they had until i had the fixture mounted on the tank .. their TIR is makes the difference between other fixtures with same wattage and radions .. oh another thing i liked the most in radion is their interface .. again it might seem like a trivial thing but its soo much nicer .. like i can choose the spectrum to be 20k and it would assign all blues at 100% whites at 17% and reds and greens at 17% and instead of indivually setting them to 50% ( if i want the lights at 50% ) i can just slide the brightness to 50% and they are all automatically set to 50% power with out change in the 20k look but less brighter.. love the interface..

MH .. i almost went Giesemann Spectra Fixture .. but didnt because : MH is heat added to the tank and i cant have chalices directly under that light without proper acclimation and i dont have time for it ..
T5 : i just dont like the looks ..none of us who like the look of tank under kessil would like T5 for sure ( 99% )

so summary ..

if i am doing a mixed reef ( with more than some sps ) i would do radion ..
if i am doing chalices, lps or anemones only tank i wouldnt do any other light than a kessil ..

kessil in my experience colors up things beautifully .. but growth is limited ( or takes a while to actually start )

hope this helps :)

yea bud...except i thought you were quitting the hobby? lol

i will have to stop over again soon and maybe you can show me how to use my DSLR

Sure can :) which one do you have ?

oh about quitting .. it occurs to me that i should indeed quit everyonce in a while .. and i push the thought thinking someother day haha

What type of Kessil did you buy? I have a mixed reef with SPS, shrooms, zoas, and lps. I have the cheap chinese LED's and my corals have good growth, but average color. I want to buy a spotlight LED similar to what I saw Kessil had. Which do you recommend?

360 tuna blue with wide angle

yup ..

Cheap chinese leds . indeed have good coral growth .. what they are missing is the spectrum i think ..

i liked the OR T240 lights but lets just say whites and blues on that fixture wont compare anywhere near with the whites and blues on kessils or radions or any named fixture for that matter.

to grow coral all we need just two peaks in the spectrum but for them to look good to the eye ( which we want the most ;) ) we need a good fixture .. again this is all imo and i just kept my Occean revice light as back up .. amd like it for its growth and price ..

one more point .. average color may not be solely because of the lights ;) i left for vacation for 35 days and no one even peeked at the tank .. and that 35 days tank ran under the chinese lights and sps that are brown turds when i left were beautifully colored by the time i came back ..

( guess its my talk too much day today ;) )

The ORs are very nice for the price but like you said there is just something special about the kessils and radions. I was really considering radions for my 80 gallon, but decided I'd first try to see if ORs combined with T5's would provide that little something that's missing.

Your chalice collection is stunning by the way! I don't even care for chalices but seeing yours makes me reconsider...
