Tired of this **** cat...

Kp95 what what! :p

Seriously that cat does not have a good quality of life. Since animals can't help us diagnose their issues, there comes a point where the only humane thing to do is end their suffering.

I personally thought she had a good quality of life...bi-annually vet visits, scheduled shots, medications, de-worming pills, the top of the line food, a water fountain...that's sounds like a good life to me. :)
But I get what you're saying, all that she has doesn't depict her internal health.

Oh, I definitely meant her physical quality of life, I'm sure the external environment you provide is absolutely awesome . Blood in the stool and constant vomiting are bad signs in any animal and she's probably in a lot of pain. I hope it works out as best as possible for you to your girlfriend and the cat

Have you gotten a 2nd opinion? This is a living creature. You can't just "get rid of it", because it's sick. My vet is an excellent diagnostician & can find things wrong with animals other vet's can't. Please take care of this sick animal. It's our responsibility!

Nope, we haven't gotten a second opinion yet, and I hear you loud and clear about not getting rid of her. We don't want to get rid of her, but if she needs to be put down because of untreatable issues, then I'm just trying to prepare her for that. But in the meantime, I'm gonna drop off a sample of the bloody stool to have it checked, and ask them to do an ultrasound possibly. I know it may be expensive, but I'd rather try to see if we can fix her, instead of her(the gf) having any type of resentment because we just gave up and didn't try.

I agree with Puffer. You can't just put it down because one incompetent vet can't diagnose the problem. Bloody stool and constant vomitting isn't natural, so either something is in that cat eating away at it from the inside or something in that house is making the cat sick. The kids may be feeding it something that it should not be eating or the cat is getting a hold of somethign that is making it sick. It could also be FIV, which is a real cat disease. It could be a number of things but don't go by that incompetent vet's opinion. Go to another vet. Why would he prescribe meds for something he can't diagnose and why would you as a consumer waste your money on those meds?

As for that dog, it may be time to put him down if his quality of life is an issue. If he is living a happy life with owners who help him along the way, then he should continue to go on living as long as there are no major health issues. I've seen plenty of dogs live long productive lives being blind, deaf or missing limbs.

Let's not just dismiss this animals just because they are inconveniencing us. They can always be adopted by someone who is willing to take care of a special needs animal. We wouldn't do that to a relative, would we.

Ummm, idk what you just said...you been hitting the bottle this morning huh? Lol
It did come from petsmart.

oh you gotta check out www.hammacher.com Lionel. It is the best mail order company in the world. They take returns years later if you simply don't like something you bought. the freaking front page is a bbq boat today!!

(no hijack intended, but I get excited about hammacher schlemmer)

As much as they charge for their items, they should take returns years afterwards.

Thanks Walt for your input, and yes, I agree...putting get down would be the absolute last option, as it should be. There isn't anything for the cat to get into, we're really careful about that. My kids are only here on the weekend and when they are here, the cat doesn't care for them, and their feeling is mutual, so they aren't interacting with the cat at all. I keep my house spotless, so I personally know she isn't eating anything she shouldn't be eating. Thanks again bro. :)

Really, I'll check them out one day. Thanks

I'm really getting tired of my gf's sickly a$$ cat. I like the cat, but don't really care for it sometimes because she's mean to my kids when they come over. For the last month now, the cat had been throwing up it's food, and then she had a really bloody stool, so we took her to the vet. $300 later and a prescription food and pills later, the vet couldn't find anything wrong. Now this morning, she started having the bloody stool again, and I just went into the kids room, and she has crapped all on their carpet. She throws up wherever she happens to be sitting at the time (on our bed, on our dresser, the kids bed, the window ledge, etc.) I'm really getting tired if this, and I'm the one who cleans it most of the time. My gf doesn't have kids, so the cat is like her child, but I'm about ready to get rid of her(the cat, not the gf)...am I wrong?

No just buy a pet crate and put the sickly cat in there when you come over. When you leave let it out.

I beat it up last night....hahaha, j/k.
Since we changed up her cat food to a sensitive diet blend, she's been doing better. She still throws up at least 2-3x's a week after eating...but no more blood in stool. Thanks for asking bro.
