Lol jk! :flirt:

I'm pretty sure I'm a lot younger than most of the people on here and can still figure out that the Internet isn't a place to get into an argument with people. Post what you wanna post, think what you wanna think, make friends, but for gods sake don't let a hobby forum control your life. Funlad is one of the youngest guys on here and probably one of the only people who doesn't start WW3 when they get their feelings hurt, maybe you older guys should take notes. Jesus people your adults get your drama from TV and keep this forum professional so we can all enjoy this great hobby.

Arguing on the Internet is like a hot urine chugging contest, even if you win, you still just chugged a bunch of piss

hahaha i am younger than funlad. but yeah, i how it's gotten annoying how the some people arguing and adding to problems/making things worse instead of finding a solution or trying to fix things. everyone else is at the sidelines shaking their head in shame because of the fact that a once peaceful community is not as peaceful. to the point where there is thread where everyone is disrespecting each other and getting out of hand :nono (2): it's threads like this that worsen the forum. now before i get bashed or people talk about how i'm only a kid and don't know much about the adult world, i'm just going to say that the rules are the same, respect each other and keep living/doing your own thing.

I think you're missing what actually happened here.

Dave asked for advice, then proceeded to argue with everyone. Why even ask for advice if you're just going to argue and ignore it.

Have you read his bottom dwellers dying thread? All good advice given, then he went back in and deleted all of his comments and inserted "no comment" after HE argued with everyone.

I for one don't like drama at all, but if you want to call what happened drama, go for it.

In all honesty this goes both ways so you can't single out the pro's or reefing vets on here for their actions. I am a noob when it comes to this hobby but I can tell you one thing for sure....... since I have found this site, I have become a much better reefer and met some amazing people. The same people that you guys claim are overreacting on here. Everything in my tank, I owe to these reefing vets for helping me out by sharing their knowledge, giving me great deals on equipment and livestock and most importantly giving me a kick in the rear end when I needed it.

Nobody gets into this and knows it all and we will make stupid mistakes. When we make those mistakes, we should be told that so we learn from it and don't make it again. I learned to dip my corals, QT my fish, research on anything before putting it in my tank, put a hold on it and take time to watch it, make sure it eats and I could go on for days.

I learned how to solve my algea issues, learned not to overstock, learned the ins and outs of reefing and even though these guys helped my skills grow I also learned my limits. I won't touch SPS because I don't have the knowledge or skills for it yet but I am learning.

The point here is we have to be accepting of the feedback or being a part of a community like this is pointless. When I screw up, I want to be called out on it and I have plenty of times and I appreciate it. It made me the reefer I am today and one day I hope to pass my knowledge on and I hope it is accepted and not taken personally.

We have to have respect in this hobby. Respect for the tank, the livestock, the ecosystem we have created in our tanks and for each other as reefers. This is similar to anything else in life. When others have valuable advice, you listen and don't take it personally. They are just trying to help. Tough love is still love and if we are noobs, we need to accept that and learn from it. That is the only way to become one of these reefing vets one day.

This is all just my two cents and IMHO. (Learned that one from Herbie) :)
