I love this thread!!

Now, to the carpenters and apprentices.....can you build stands for us? :secret:

I have a professional degree in architecture from IIT (Illinois Institute of Technology). My earlier background is in art and photography. I'm currently testing for my ARE (Architect Registration Examination). I've worked for the Walgreens corporation for two years, designing building sites and the buildings themselves. Now I do freelance architectural consulting and run a general construction business. The field of architectural design is very broad, and incorporates many trades. It can span from site design to the design of door knobs installed in a building. I always loved designing furniture and have done so. I've built about half of the furniture in my condo. If anybody needs help designing and building aquarium furniture, please let me know. If anyone needs a design drawing, I can provide one in 3d, for free. I love this sh!t, so please, really, let me know if I can help. I have the means to build it too.

I may take u up on the 3D image if I don't get my stand built this weekend..

IIT is an incredibly tough school, too. My ex went there for BioMedical Engineering. She was worked to the bone, and I know for a fact the architecture students got it even worse. Mark, did you have fun with the drawing bricks exercise (or did you not have to do that)?

Very weird having two Architects here.

I completed the ARE last July and work for a global engineering (mainly) and architecture firm and specialize in restorative rehabilitation of cut stone and masonry facades.

Which means I often am either inspecting buildings facades:

Or fixing facades by bad drivers (this is a post office):

I am also trying to launch my own practice now and just got my LLC last week.

How is the testing going? I failed one of the 7 tests. Construction documents! Haha.. I totally took it for granted. Passed the rest first try.
