What kind of puffer did I see

I am in the process of putting together a new larger setup. Reasoning is mostly because all the best fish need larger aquariums. Was in LFS by orland mall and saw they had a really tiny puffer fish. Long story short my girlfriend wants one for in our new tank. So my big question is....does anyone have any idea what species of puffer fish I might have see? He was very small and yellow in color. I searched around for info on dwarf puffers but they all said freshwater......any information would be great help.
 
Hahahahaha! I think I had the same one before. The guy at the place that I bought it from told me it was a spotted puffer and that it was a baby. I was new to the hobby and believed him. After almost 2 years it never grew and I gave it away. It was pretty cool though.
 
Unsure could be the valentine puffer un sure on spelling sry if interested when you get this larger set up going i have a happy porcupine puffer that needs a larger home

Yea pushed it aside in the bsmnt lol actually looked at it yesterday and debating doing all wood and have a look down tank 8*3*3 just use pool liner dont know tho

Looked on live aquaria for puffer info and couldn't find the exact one as I saw in store. I was looking for a puffer that will stay that small size all the time, so maybe I need to go back to my LFS.....where is the punk at btw? Haha figured I would have had an exact answer by now....thanks for all your help

Were you keeping it in FW? That would explaining the stunting.

What size tank? FW/BW/SW? Tank mates?
 
Possibly then it was stunted before you got it. Here's my 6" friends:

SW fish. He wasn't in a very big tank at LFS. Maybe was 1.5-2" in size. The tank I'm looking to upgrade to will be at least 125 g. I'm just wanting to get my list of the livestock I want before my tank.
 
I know might sound weird but. This fish almost looked cartoonish, I know my description sounds dumb. But was yellow w black spots n just like a little baby blob of a puffer.....I just wanna make sure my new tank is sized enough for this tiny puffer.
