What sort of salt do you use, and what is your target SG?

I have used Marin Pro Reef and I shoot for 1.026
I am considering making a change. I'd love to see a current list of what everyone is using and the pros and cons of each. (especially if there are warnings or problems about specific brands)
I'd do a poll, but I think there are probably too many choices.

Crystal Sea Marine Mix (the $27/box stuff) target of 1.025-1.026. It mixes fast with no residue and the tank seems to love it.

+1 i use them also.. Ask jeff from TotalPetsPlus.. he may have some if u wanna try it..

Salinity-1.025

PRO-I like that the batches are labeled as to what you should see in test. CON- It is expensive and hard to source. I have been talking with Reed @ MCF and I am considering switching. Since the only LFS that carries it is Old Orchid I wanted to know what were the result from Tropic Marin? Since it is sold there. Hope this helps Nate.

Salinity is by far the worst coral salt i have ever used. Poor mixing, extremely low alk, unstable parameters.
I though i was the only one or got a bad batch but almost everyone i know ran into the same issue. I used it for 3 buckets, never again.

Tropic marin is an all-around great salt. Mixes very 'soft' and well. Good/consistent parameters. Not for me because alk is a bit high considering I use kalk and a calcium reactor on my sps tank.
Red Sea Coral Pro is working well for me right now, but my backup is Tropic Marin.

I use yo use oceanic because I like the 6 gallon bucket but dfs doesn't carry it any more so I switched to reef crystals by instant ocean. I still use a glass floater to mesure my salt so if its the green its OK to me lol

oops i forgot to mention..

Crystal Sea Marine Mix 1.026 mixes well and i dnt get residue just sitting in my mixing buckett

i used to use seachem but it was horrible... didnt mix well and my corals didnt like it..

This is helpful folks keep them coming. Also, with the tropic Marin; does everyone stick with just reef or reef pro, or even their bioactiv . Curious if the other versions are enough better to justify the increased cost.
