I also use a turkey baster. I mostly feed at night when my lights are out so I don't have a problem with my shrimp or fish going for the food. Only time I feed during the day is for my sun corals. Those I have to cover with an old water bottle. Otherwise, my fish and shrimps will take the food right out of the corals mouth.
