What would you do with $1300.00 as far as new setup

Personally I think that a 75 gallon is the perfect starting platform. it has length and depth, plus they are easy to find. Most of all they are fairly easy to learn with. If you have a small system, 1 issue can become a disaster. in too large of a system, you need to think about water changes and cost of up keep. the 75 gallon hits right in the middle. if you watch your parameters, you can usually catch a problem before it becomes terrible. the equiptment need to run a 75 is more common to find and a lot less expensive then a huge system. You say you may want to keep just clowns, but the more time you spend in the fish stores the more you are going to change your mind. What ever way you decide to go, best of luck. Anything you need we are here for you (except for more money).

Jay what are your thoughts on a shallow reef tank from DeepBlue? A 70 gallon I believe they don't make 75's

i love the deep blue tanks. my favorite is the 80 gallon. i too like the shallow tanks because you get more bang for your buck on lighting.

Let me know if your interested in it. I heard the temps might reach back up to the 30's this weekend and need to clean my garage anyways. I can try cleaning it up and filling it.

Thank you so much for the offer very nice of you but this one looks like its not Reef Ready I would prefer it to be drilled and my wife likes the idea of a shallow reef tank as well.

That's what I was thinking too lighting wise it wouldn't need a whole lot. Since im on a budget gotta really do best bang for buck.

What do you guys think good deal I know for sure its worth the money. This would include no sump but I may just save up and get the sump when needed. Wont name any names since not sure if the member wants me to or not.

moe i think you can swing getting the tank new, get one of the shallow deep blue tanks, like them a lot myself. Then i would just do everything else used, depending on what lighting you are thinking of going with but i see a complete setup happening for 1300 with new tank/used lighting. You also said you had live rock lined up? that will cut a lot of money off the spending list.
