My manual says 3:1 or 4:1 is proper ratio for me. I am getting freaking 8:1 right now and my wife is not happy with the water bill...

Read up online how to get the proper ratio. Id look it up for you but I'm on my phone
You can find them at home depot in the plumbing section for sinksDo you what that thing is called so I can look up where to buy it? RODI shut off valve? Push to connect valve? Sorry for noob question...
You should be able to find it at any hardware store. I call it a 1/4 plastic valve lol
So why is it better than a flow restrictor? It seems like flow restrictor is the standard for RODI units.
Metering valve the way to goThe only reason I know this is because I bought a flow restrictor and it it was wayyyy off. After reading into how to fix the problem I found that a lot of guys use these valves. It's completely adjustable. You can physically test and make sure you are getting the proper ratio and not wasting your filters. Ratios should be checked twice a year during winter and summer since the ratios may change with water temperature.
Don't run a flow restrictor. Read into them. Run a manual valve off of your waste line and adjust it til you get a 4:1 ratio. Check with your system as your system might not be made to run at a 4:1 ratio.
where do you place the flow restrictor?
can you just add it onto the end of your waste line valve?
