which RODI

ill be recieving my BRS rodi this evening

so is there anything i need to particularly do or just hook it up to a tap and it generates water for me ?

The videos on BRS are highly advisable to watch. Also, prepare yourself for a tiny of trickle of water. If you got a 75gpd that's only 3.125 gallons per hour at MAXIMUM flow (thats about 20 minutes for a gallon). I think people are often disappointed at the difference between the waste and clean outputs:)

+1 BRS videos are a great instructional tool to get up to speed with unfamiliar gear. Herbie is so right about RO/DI outputs. Just because it is rated at 75gpd doesn't mean it will be a rushing torrent of water.

Also hope you purchased a float valve they come in real handy or you could just use a timer.

yippee my rodi is working wonderfully :)

putting out exactly 5 gallons an hour when connected to the kitchen sink faucet :D

No, it's not. Turn down the pressure and get it down in line. Do you have a TDS meter? Technically if the water is coming out at 0, then it doesn't necessarily matter...

i jus observed something

the container with the black catridge is the ro membrane right ? ?

that container is only half filled ... like its not filled to the top before putting out water is this normal ?

You can vent it (open slightly until it fills) but it will not affect performance either way

No the cartridge sitting on top of the unit horizontally is the membrane doing the work. The pre filter and carbon blocks just clean the big stuff out of your tap water.

Never throttle any valves because that allows bad stuff thru. Your last stage is the DI resin that will never fill up. The water is drawn up the cartridge thru the resin. The only time it will be full of water is when your auto shut off kicks in.

ok brs people sent me an ro housing (the plastic tube that has ro unit)
but even after changing it, still the flow is too much ..i tried opening up the faucet only a little and still the flow is good.. im sure its not a pressure problem

so what else might be wrong ?? my only thought is ro unit might be faulty .. possible ??

ill be getting a tds meter this friday so have to wait i believe ...........

Can you post pictures of your plumbing?

i didnt plumb it anywhere yet ... im just having it on the floor and attaching the tube to the kitchen faucet with the adapter that came along ..

the bucket to collect water is next to the rodi unit ..

why >? would plumbing matter in the qualit of water output ?

sorry, I meant the plumbing or connections on the unit itself. Maybe they have a flow restrictor missing or lines crossed or something. Maybe if we could see the way it is hooked up we might see a problem. I just can't imagine that you have enough pressure to generate the flow you are describing.

sure :) ill be recieving my tds meter today .. and illcheck it ..

the flow from my faucet is pretty high .. i can feel it .. soo high that if i open it fully with out any thing then water is everywhere after hitting sink bottom ..

but yea im not sure if it would be enough pressure to get a 120gpd out of 75 gpd ..

Ok. Just checked my tds and it's ZERO :)

My tap water is at 160 so does this mean the pressure from my faucet is off course high ???

Is it ok to run the water at that High pressure or. Would it damage anything ??
