Who else has a Drag car?

So on my last outing to the track my trans let go,so it's out in NJ being rebuilt by IPT.The goals for 2012 are for my car to go 8's.So far my best run this year was a 9.24@162.88mph.I'll go thru thru the motor and replace the bearings and will half-fill the block with cement,also considering changing out my IRS for a solid axle.It sucks that i live in the city and the car is at my parent's 1.5hrs away.Some of you have seen the car and i promise i'll take you guys out for a quick street pull in the spring :laugh:.

So who else is a gearhead on here.Also what car/mods do you have?

A quick rundown of my drag car:

91 Eagle Talon AWD
automatic
5000rpm stall
100shot fogger
garrett GT4202R
2250cc injectors
E85

Car weighs 3180 with me in it.
 
Nice I have a 68 firebird sadly its nowhere near ready for the strip yet still needs wheel tubs and the roll cages need to be cut out and a new one needs to go in so my knees aint smashed up against the dash but who knows when that will get done cuz I just dont have the extra cash for it since I bought a house and put in that darn fishtank lol
 
Sounds like an easy fix on the cage side,only the tube behind the seat needs to be cut out and have a new longer one bent to shape.But i hear ya on the money side.Wheel tubs?The new trend is to go fast on skinny tires,ditch the tubs :)
 
Well I need something I dont need to be getting hit in the back of the head with chunks of rubber when I'm doing my burnout. and it had a cage in it when I bought it and my knees hit the dash kinda sucks and wheel wells were already cut out too, but I only have 8 1/2 inch tires so they aint that big
 
I drive a slightly modded old E36 BMW that I've been on the race track and autoX course with a few times.
 
I raced for years. Started in winged sprint cars then went to motorcycles,Got hurt so decided to get a cage around me again and started racing Busch in Texas for about 5 years, All the money guys priced us out of that so moved back north here and started racing ump modifieds for about 15 years, Retired and then got hired to drive late models for about 6 years then i decided that i didn't have time anymore so i quit again. I drag raced when i was in my teens and twentys and street raced for a long time, Always had street toys.

thats awesome, the 93 is actually my favorite TSI/GSX year. and my buddy actually just got a 96 GSX he plans to build.

I currently have a 2011 WRX, which i won't really be touching until i no longer want my warranty valid.
 
I have a really good friend that ha as few muscle cars and a drag car or two skunker knows him :-) ill post a few pics I am a big gearhead even tho I don't know much. I do have an s10 I had planed to do an LS swap but a week after I got th truck found out my wife was pregnant with twins so just forgot about it. Is I just hang around and help a bit on my friends cars do to alot of cruises In he summer with him. Especially the tinley park one on tuesdays. Toyota park on wednesday and we heard about one in lemont on Wednesday's we wanna check out anyone go to any cruises?

sedan or hatch?? :)

i've been to Byron a few times in my slow *** subaru... so not a drag car. mostly autox

Building a 96 civic hatch with an RSX Type S all motor, maybe a 75 shot of Nos. Mostly for Autocross or time attack.

I don't do straight lines not as fun.
 
iam building ford mustang ! 800 HP small block 408 YSI VORTEC super charge ! trickflow R heads , billitt internals, dart block! I LOVE TO RACE!
